THIS & THAT// Lifestyle,, Food, lockdown

SIMPLE EASY DISHES from around the WORLD It seems everywhere people have become avid bakers , trying new recipes.  As a recent study has  shown people are baking a lot more since the lockdown - me included.  The search results for banana loaf recipes has been one of the most popular.   I have made  a few once the bananas are over ripe and not so tasty. Another one i have made is a lemon loaf, which is a favourite for the tanginess So have you been trying any new recipes?   I have pinned so many interesting recipes to try, but in most cases don't have all the different spices or ingredients.  So have to improvise at times. I like simple, no fuss recipes with few ingredients.  FRENCH STYLE DISH One simple recipe my mom use to make is rice pudding, was a staple for her , and surprisingly enough it is also a loved recipe in France too-  RIZ du Lait . I do like the taste of it , especially with cinnamon and raisins and its  so simple to make. Great way to use up the left

EASY DOES IT// Lifestyle, life, after Covid

ANOTHER WEEK to RELAX As most countries in Europe have started to slowly get back to some kind of normal, kids back to school, shops opening up  and sport events (Soccer fans are happy ). I am still leary of how people seem to ignore the social distancing or face mask requirements.  I am certainly not going to places that are overcrowded or be to close to people not yet.    ( unfortunately I am a high risk to get) I would caution to wait till a vaccine is available against it. But on a lighter note , there are things to enjoy that have opened and with limited access, reservations needed.  Vienna is known for its great Cafe culture , its part of the cities beauty  to sit in the grandiose cafes enjoy a delicious dessert and read the papers, thats what the cafes are known for. There are so many famous cafes in the city, the Landemann  near the City hall, Schwarzenberg near the fountain monument, the famous Sacher is a must  visit, plus many many more smaller ones to

A CHILLY day get your SWEATERS// fashion,

6 MUST HAVE KNITS for SPRING I have found a new love for sweater tops and knits.  Knit dresses for winter are my staple pieces.   I use to wear a lot of blazers or a denim jacket for casual look, but since then cardigans have been my new item. I have a view hanging around from a nice cable knit zipper type , a hot pink and basic black  but its nice to have something a little different.   HERE are some fun or solid colour knits I might get, some are on sale, even better. These pieces would work great with black, white slacks for summer- like the longer wrap style top  for days when its chilly on the morning walks.

For All the MOTHERs// lifestyle

There is nothing more special then the love of a Mother,  she holds you close in her arms and in her heart forever. So we can cherish our moms and show how much she means to us in many ways.

FOR the love of JUMPSUITS// fashion, lifestyle, style, mode

SIX JUMPSUIT STYLES TO TRY In one of my other recent posts what to wear for date nite at home , it was  a nice comfortable jumpsuit . One reason I do love some jumpsuits is the fact it is one piece, simple to jump into, just like dresses. Simple, fast and easy to get dressed for the day.   Some styles are more casual and some are nice for a more dressy outings from neutrals, to prints and solid colours these jumpsuits are perfect for spring and summer.   Even come fall you can wear with a nice jacket  or cardigan.  Here are 6 perfect ones to wear for the summer. Some are linen so cooler to wear on a hot summer day. Simple , casual or dressy . TWO SUMMERY LOOKS, this floral and lace piece is so romantic looking almost lingerie inspired. Another one ideal for summer time.  Casual styling with zip details. A touch of RED! This one is ideal for summer outings, dinners or a special trip. Love the large ruf

THIS & THAT// Lifestyle, DIYs

DOING SOME THINGS  while in lockdown SELF CARE & DIYs A FEW small SEWING PROJECTS I will say it has been a chance these last weeks to get into finding new things to do or try. Last week it was a requirement that we have to wear masks when going to the grocery stores or pharmacy, also when taking public transport. So making  face masks was something to do , luckily I received as a gift a new sewing machine which I have used a few times.  This time it was for making face masks and some lavender sachets. simple things that make a difference! The lavender sachets are for the  lavender I have dried and can hang in the closet, it is such a divine fragrance. The smell is also helps to sleep if you are having trouble to sleep. It is such a soothing smell. I use to sew a lot before, things for kids, summer shorts and hats, baby quilts etc. Now getting back into sewing is a bit like therapy. It is enjoyable and passes the time for now.  It can be one way to be creative if you are the

MERRY MONTH of MAY// Lifestyle, events,

HAPPY MAY 1ST The day is celebrated here as a holiday and through most of Europe. It is a holiday to celebrate all the workers.  Usually rallies are held, picnics, music and just getting together.   But this year  was less of an event ,though few people did gather in the city centre. The MAYPOLE DANCE🌷🌺  another event held in some European countries is the MAY DAY  flag pole dance, a tall pole is erected atop is a large wreath made of branches with long colourful ribbons dangling from the pole , young kids dancing around it holding onto the ribbons as it slowly gets wrapped around the pole. A every  fun way to welcome the new season of summer.
