COMPANIES COMING// Lifestyle, Decor,

GUEST ROOM IDEAS Whether it is for the holidays or anytime, when we are expecting guests or company that are staying over, I really like to make them feel at home and comfortable. Of course it can be stressful for both, but once you and they are relaxed and comfortable then half the battle is over. Here are some ideas to make the guest room cozy and comfortable, it doesn't have to over the top but a few small things  can make a big difference GUEST ROOM MUST HAVES Firstly a good mattress is key, then the bedding. I like to have extra duvet covers available, as they are easy to wash up and also make the bed - less fuss the better. So DUVETS are great for anytime. PILLOWs are a another must have,  a fluffy pillow will make sleeping even better. Extra BLANKET or THROW just in case.   THE LITTLE EXTRAS EXTRA SLIPPERS & TOWEL these I like to place in a wicker basket ,  along with a bar of soap for personal use.  Perhaps a hand cream

Updated *DRESSING UP IN SWEATS// fashion, styling

THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER but DIFFERENT I have sometimes felt it be nice to wear something less dressy or formal for the holidays-   to try something different.  A more relaxed , comfortable but still something  special. Usually when I think of Christmas sweat shirts or sweaters visions  of the over the top  shirts come to mind,  reindeers or Santas.  They are fun but not my style. As I was browsing I found some great sweat tops that I would definitely wear over the holiday or any other time. They are classy, but versatile for other occasions or times Whether a informal office party, house party or get to together with friends, think these tops work well. The best thing they are not to expensive, look great and as I mentioned can be worn over and over  for other events or days. So whether you wear now or get it as a gift , makes for a nice change. A FEW CLASSY PEARLS this top i love , as it can be worn in so many different ways  with slacks, a mid

FABULOUS FRAGRANCES// gift idea

💕For the Love of Fragrances💕 There is something about christmas and the shops filled with lights, trees and shoppers that is really exciting, especially if wandering around the city centre. The shops are all different and small. Of course there are the bigger department stores , but smaller shops are just so cozy. But what really thrills me most is seeing a shop filled with fragrances and  the fabulous gift sets that each perfumeries  offer for the season.     For me this is the best time to get a new fragrance with the extras.  What is nice about gift sets there are usually other items included, be it perfume, eau de toilette or lotions  so it is a good way to try the products. So to  share some fragrance that I hope to find tucked under the tree. Here are some  to try from Gaultier to Givenchy.  There are so many. Hopefully you will find a gift set under the tree this year. Fragrances are such a personal thing , some like floral scents , others might

A LITTLE BIT OF KINDNESS / lifestyle , health

WORLD KINDNESS WEEK A KINDNESS CHALLENGE This week is  KINDNESS WEEK.  Something that the world needs now, especially with all the negative news around. So its a nice idea to share . I only read about Kindness week and thought what a great idea. According to studies done in the states, there is a link to kindness and living a longer life. Now that sounds very interesting, to imagine that when we are kinder to others  it not only makes them feel good but it also can help us.  The study shows that any small gesture can have a profound effect on a persons mind  it can  lower blood pressure, relief stress . There are so many ways to show kindness in small ways.  helping someone carry their bags, giving up your seat for an elderly person or young mom,  baking cookies for a sick neighbour, sending a card , or holding the door open for someone. These small things can mean a lot to someone. I know for myself it does make you feel noticed. I often see young people on the metro

POP ART & POSTERS // Decor , Lifestyle

The month is zooming by so quickly and already the push to get things for Christmas has started. As much as I love the season, I find the onslaught of ads and sales can be to overwhelming For me this time of year is when I think more of decorating or making some small changes inside. Simple things that are not overly expensive but make me feel the space is comfortable . One way I find that make a big impact is art. Lately I have had a interest in posters. Trying to find the RIGHT poster for a space. What is nice about posters is the size, they can fill a wall nicely, usually they are colourful and very interesting. Posters were very popular as a way to advertise , promote a place or sport. Some of the great posters you might have seen are of the french theme, Warhol Marilyn Monroe, Campbell soup can or the Olympics and many others. For the next few months  in Vienna there is a showing of posters being held at the MUK , something different to see for anyone visiti

IN A PLAID MOOD// Fashion, styling

MAD FOR PLAID IT seems when the cooler temperatures begin and season is changing from fall to winter, I start to think of plaid. Why?  That is something i don't know, but there is something about plaid, checks and tweeds that reminds me of this time of year.  Maybe because it is such  traditional fall print. Well today I thinking about something in plaid , there are a lot of ways to wear a plaid, a simple scarf or a pair of slacks.   Even checks is another option  . So today i thought i share an idea of styling a few simple dresses.  Styling with a pair of leggings, ankle boots, or just a great pair of knee high boots . STYLE one : TRADITIONAL with Twist  wear with a  leather biker or blazer , add a simple belt over.      STYLE two :  BUSINESS SMART  A nice long sleeve look , pair with  a camel, black or leopard print coat.  Add a scarf .     STYLE three     the rocker check look.... wear it with those pleather leggings, ankle boots
