the ROYAL JEWELS of MARIE ANTOINETTE At a recent Sotheby's auction in Geneva some very historical pieces of jewelry were auctioned that once belonged to the French royal Marie Antionette. A most beautiful diamond pearl pendant , diamond ring with the initials MA and other royal pieces To my surprise I read she was a Austrian princess that married the French prince Louis at a young age. She was born in Vienna at the royal winter palace Hofburg. The rest of history we know, the French revolution brought the end to royals in France. But before that the jewels were smuggled out of France and sent back to Austria. A very interesting journey and story that shows the happenings of the city back then.
