SAFETY FIRST I am no beauty expert or someone who experiments with things, when it is to do with skin care or other treatments.  I have to say there are some things that i certainly would NOT dare try or even think to try., they are simply to, to dangerous. For example a few years back it was the thing to enhance ones butt, the BIG BUTT thing. Women or girls were going to places to have injections that were not safe or done by a doctor.  Some of these women died from these injections that were home repair products like silicon used as sealant. NOW it seems on TIK TOK  there are more dangerous  DIY beauty tips. SMILEY WHITES Some are mentioning one can use bleach to whiten your teeth.  Bleach can be a dangerous product if not used properly or safely. IT is NOT for whitening  teeth!!  There are products available for that in the pharmacy. DO YOU HAVE A CERTAIN UNIFORM?  I always think of a UNIFORM     as something someone who works with an airline , the police or  military or even a school uniform, but even normal everyday people have a  certain uniform they like to wear. image via pinterest Business or banking is a more formal outfit, the suit and tie style. The uniform can be something you like to wear more often, whether its a  simple t-shirt, or  a dress. The one outfit you would grab first to wear for the day. I have certain outfits , favourites I like to wear more often then others: one is a classic style - a simple black (one shoulder) dress with a blazer , a tote and wedge shoes; the other more casual look was a pair of slacks with plenty of pockets, a tunic shirt and tank top  worn under.  Now for summer it has been a  A-line dress with a cardigan, sandals and straw tote. HI everyone! Well its nearly the end of August ,  I can't believe it! A few projects we started during the lockdown and prior to, organizing is top on the list. Then a few garden goodies to enjoy over the summer also was a nice treat. So what were some of things you have been enjoying this month´? GARDENING, and other things..... The last few weeks have been so hot here. The idea of doing anything in the heat was not appealing. So decided to gather up some of the vegetables that are growing , tomatoes galore! So many can't possibility eat them all. So decided to make soup.  A nice treat to have though I eat it cold , more like a juice really. I love tomatoes and most vegetables really. The neighbours have an apple tree ,bags of apples which we get  to make apple sauce . Yes a home garden can really make summers delicious with all the produce and vegetables to partake of . CASUAL at HOME STYLE With so many people  now having to work from home or not -  the trend or interest in wearing comfortable things at home has increased.  We are wanting more lounge wear, sweatshirts, leggings and other comfortable clothing. SWEATSHIRTS , LEGGINGS & T SHIRTS I have to admit I have never owned  a sweatshirt (till lately) or leggings, even at home. I can imagine they are comfortable to wear, like wearing PJs inside.  My usual casual wear were matching sets, tops and slacks that I could wear out to go to the parks, quick shopping or cycling. Something I guess you might call    dressy casual .   Three of my favourites outfits were a navy set with contrast stitching,  a faux suede set, and a pink set . But now that I am at home more and trying to exercise inside, I am more inclined to find a pair of leggings or biker shorts and a baggy top  to wear.  Something loose and comfortable to wear is ideal. TREASURES or JUNK? I have always loved to rummage around flea markets and auctions . We would go some weekends to have a look. Like they say, 'A nother mans junk; is another mans treasure.'  I enjoy finding one of kind things, plus its a way to keep things out of the landfills and reusing things  Recycling is one way to do that. RECYCLING FINDS Pair of metal lanterns   have the rustic look with chipped paint, but i liked them the way they were for now;  maybe later will repaint them.  Something like this or in black SIMILAR A wicker basket     is really useful to carry things outside on the terrace. I use it to take wine bottles or anything needed for dining al fresco.  A small piece of the wicker was missing around the handle so i wrapped twine around it, but will stain it to match.   A wicker basket is always handy! A large  bamboo tray ,  also needed some repairing but its great and holds a lot of things. I use it for serving, or placing items to ke

PLANNING A TRIP? WHAT TO WEAR? It s been awhile since we had a trip anywhere, with lockdowns, travel restrictions and quarantines , it seems like travelling anywhere is not possible.  I use to take a few trips  to far off places, but after a long haul flight of  so so many hours, it does not appeal to me as much anymore. Running  through large airports for connecting flights, finding the terminals and the lineups - well you get the idea. Airports use to be fun but now i find them to overwhelming and more traveller pushing or running you over with the cases is  like being at an amusement park. I have more or less fallen in love with train travel, it takes longer but it is so much more soothing. Plus more comfortable and relaxing. Plus better for the environmen t, which is very important! AUGUST , THINK SUMMER IS OVER?  Guess again! Nearly the middle of August and still it is extremely hot. I think its been unusually hot in most parts of Europe and North america too.  And if it keeps up then perhaps its a good idea to get a few new swimsuits. I have had the same sets for years and even one that I would call ancient.  I prefer one piece suits for the comfort and ease. Not having to worry about something slipping up . HALTER , OFF SHOULDER, ONE SHOULDER, CUT-OUTS........ ?? The choices are really endless,   solids and prints , florals , tropical  prints have been popular , cutouts work well if you like to show a bit more skin , buckles and belted are always chic looking. Black and white the classic, timeless swimsuit. So here a a few that might work for now or later.   WHAT S YOUR FAVOURITE?         images hm

THE DESIGNER & TIFFANY When I think of Tiffany the first thing that comes to mind is the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. The movie was so popular and famous with the lovely Audrey Hepburn playing a young woman living in New York city.  And the funny scene with her shopping in the Tiffany store was the best! But besides the movie , Tiffany is famous for many things like jewelry and the lamps. There is also the well known jewelry designer Elsa Peretti who designed several unique pieces for Tiffany's. Her designs are a modern , fluid look . One of her famous pieces is the Gold Cuff, designed in the 70s and still popular. It is really a timeless piece. There are several others, like the coffee bean, the open heart that were Elsa designs.  She came from a famous Italian family, and studied architect design, then moved to New york and started modelling for many famous fashion designers and magazines.  Her life was extraordinary - somewhat like in the movie

A SPLASH of COLOUR  This one dress was really a surprise. The fit is perfect, the length ideal, but what I really love about this dress is the flared bottom.  It drapes lovely and has a bit of swing to it when you walk.   I must say I fell in love with it, for the summer it  is ideal.  The other thing the price was unbelievable, that is why I am even more surprised with it.  Its a simple  A line cut with the added flare bottom  just makes it extra fun to wear.  How I wish  it came in more colors, I would have been happy to have more! Definitely my kind of style. I styled it with the bright pink cotton cardigan and a favourite small bag which can be shortened or lengthen, worn as a crossover or carried over the arm.  Pink is the  colour on trend , you will see this colour in  shoes and accessories. COOL & COMFORTABLE The dress is made of viscose material so it is  light and comfortable and cool which was  what I wanted most of all.  pair it with espa

WEAR IT NOW I am sure many of us have a wide selection of jewelry in our jewelry boxes. Whether its earrings, rings or necklaces. I admit I have my favourites that I wear more often, but then there are pieces  I love too, but don't wear them enough.  Especially now when we are not out as much due to the lockdowns etc.   We probably don't bother to wear much jewelry when we are at home.  Its nice to wear those pieces and really a shame that we let them sit there without wearing them enough times.   If you don't wear it now, then when? Better to enjoy your things now , then never. Rings are one of my favourites and I wear it all time. I like pieces with a modern design , then there are times I like a bit of sparkle.
