BOO! a few good things to watch// lifestyle, films

I couldn't resist ! Tomorrow is Halloween night, and for those of you who are getting ready with the spooky decorations , costumes and goodies  it is also the best time to catch a few spooky movies. I love a GOOD scary movie (to a point) and there are so many that have been made over the year. Some are old  like the Dracula ones, Frankenstein or Hitchcocks Psycho . Probably the most popular are Halloween series but there are many others. Lately we have been on a scary movie marathon , a few Johnny Depp,  the Gremlins, and others. We recently watched the Cannes winner,   Parasit  a South Korean film and I enjoyed it. The plot was interesting and though not really a scary movie it was worth seeing.   Another one  plan to see is  called Creep. This definitely fits the bill for a Halloween  scarey film. It begins with a woman who had been to a party and then falls asleep waiting for the metro, only to find out she has been locked up in the underground stati

THE TEDDY COAT is BACK// fashion

CUDDLY  & WARM The last few seasons the teddy coat has been around which made me think okay perhaps a teddy coat is another option for winter - other then a puffer coat or down filled parka. The fact is, it is not so cold here. So a down jacket really is not needed.  But for some that find the temperature to much, then of course a warm parka is a must. But for now  the TEDDy is another option to consider and for sure there are many more color options - grey, beige, brown , black  camel and pink.   From a jacket, 3/4 or full length. Anyone of these might be a good option. SPORTY STYLE A SPORT LOOK like this short version for throwing on if in a hurry, i.e. quick shop trip.  or if planning a sporty day , skating skiing.  JUST FOR FUN    GREAT LENGTHS is a great choice if it gets really cold, will keep you  cozy warm. HOT PINK , PLEASE// fashion style

PINK FOREVER Its maybe not everyones favourite color, but you will see it more and more in fashion. Especially with accessories or shoes. I personally love some pink, especially a hot pink, not the pale pinks.  A few of my favourite pieces is a hot pink sweater cardigan that i can pair with black navy, grey, white or beige. The combinations are endless.  It just brightens up an outfit alot! From a simple pink scarf worn with a coat or blazer it adds spark to the look. Fall or winter will soon arrive but that is no reason not to go bold and wear some colour! A nice look with pink top and trouser with pink stripe. A look that is stylish and smart looking paired with a nice shoe, i.e. ballerinas or pumps STREET STYLE What is your favorite colour or item that gives your outfits a bit of POP? FRENCH CHIC // fashion

WHEN & HOW? We have all read I am sure in the magazines and blogs how much the French are admired for their chicness and style.  I have often wondered what is it about the French style or fashions that the world is so enamoured by it. After reading a interesting article about the rise of the French fashion , it is easy to understand why. We have to start to look back hundreds of years to the time of King Louis or Marie Antoinette (who was a Austrian) before the French Revolution.  This was the era when beautiful craftsmenship, stunning and rich materials and intricate design was highly important in the royal courts of Europe. France or Versailles became the centre of great fashion at that time. But when the French revolution happened , the flamboyant lifestyle of the rich was no longer part of life . As time went by it became something the french admired and wanted later . So the fashions of that time were made available to others. Also the fact that it provided wor

THE SMALL THINGS// lifestyle, tip

SMALL THINGS in LIFE I am not sure if it is cooler weather or me getting older (can't be) but whatever it is when fall comes around its feels like it is time to bring out the candles, grab the cozy blankets ,  bake apple pies and watch movies. All of these things I love. Movies especially. I love to follow the film festivals and see what is new .  Small Things Last weekend was one of those , (after the museum visits).  Foreign films have always interested me.(though it was not so easy to find them )  This year at the Cannes film festival the films screened included those directed by Tarantino(once upon a time in hollywood), Pedro Almodovar , Boon Joon-hu and many others.  So I am curious to check them out when in theatres.  Meanwhile I found one film by Almodovar that sounded interesting and is based on the Canadian author Alice Munro. The film is  called Julieta -  a film that takes you on the journey of the life of a young woman, wife and mother and r

The SELFIE & MUSEUMS// lifestyle, event

MUSEUMS & SELFIES This weekend it is the LANGE NACHT IM MUSEEM , (long night in the museum) event.  Amazingly this  event has be held now for 20 years and for me is the highlight of  fall. I admit , I am a big museum lover ! I could spend hours or days wandering around a museum. I find it so interesting to see and explore all the different exhibits .  So of course this weekend will be a chance for many people to  check out many museums in Austria - such as the Kunsthistorische museum,  Natural Science Museum , the Seccession ,  the list of museums is endless. ANOTHER KIND OF MUSEUM Well now there is a new museum in town,  the no filter museum .  The place where you can interact or pose to take photos in different spaces and scenes.  We probably know many people that love to post selfies, as it is one of the many ways people share their daily life with friends . It is of course not only limited to younger people but also the influ
