THE SMALL THINGS// lifestyle, tip

SMALL THINGS in LIFE

I am not sure if it is cooler weather or me getting older (can't be) but whatever it is
when fall comes around its feels like it is time to bring out the candles, grab the cozy blankets ,
bake apple pies and watch movies. All of these things I love. Movies especially.
I love to follow the film festivals and see what is new .

Small Things
Last weekend was one of those , (after the museum visits).  Foreign films have always interested me.(though it was not so easy to find them )  This year at the Cannes film festival the films screened included those directed by Tarantino(once upon a time in hollywood), Pedro Almodovar , Boon Joon-hu and many others.  So I am curious to check them out when in theatres.

Meanwhile I found one film by Almodovar that sounded interesting and is based on the Canadian author Alice Munro. The film is  called Julieta-  a film that takes you on the journey of the life of a young woman, wife and mother and reflecting back to earlier years. It is a romantic drama that makes one feel for her pain, love and longing ... a very touching movie.  The director made a wonderful film from Munros book. I actually like Almodovar films , he is like the spanish version of Woody allen films. Perhaps with more emotion and feelings, and depth of the characters.  I can say  its a good film to watch.  I have seen a few of his other films -   All about My mother; Volver , so Julieta is another one I can recommend.

The other one I found really interesting was a German film called Run Lola Run. Its not new but seems like it could be.  The plot is about a girl and her boyfriend and how things can happen in the
most unexpected ways. It is a very unusual film that shows parts with animation , but in a funny way.
Lola is out to save her boyfriend from disaster and the outcome.  A very cute artsy film.

Both might be in english or subtitled. So if you are keen to
see some foreign films they might interest you.

These films are not your die hard or star wars type with all the flash and action ,
but more films of human beings daily life and relationships.
So I hope you enjoy!

Pockets please!!/ fashion

Well as the title says…. Pocket s please!  This week has been a very painful week. I recently injured my knee badly. Not able to move stand or walk. When finally bit better I finally  managed to move . I needed something to wear that I could put my phone in , glasses medicine in. Any dress I thought I could use didn’t have pockets for anything.  Why???  When I think back there usually  were pocket inserts nicely sewn  on inside of slacks or dresses.  Now you rarely find that .  I guess it’s a cost saving , less material needed and no extra time used sewing a pockrr er r in.  Maybe it’s to give an outfit a more neat look, no bulging pockets.   Meanwhile mens wear there are always pockets.  Do you like outfit with pockets?
