SUMMER BREEZES The summer heat has arrived and it is hard to decide what to wear. Shorts and a t shirt  - for the beach okay, but in the city I prefer dresses. The comfort and loose flow of the fabrics and just the coolness of a dress - nothing to tight or binding. SUMMER HOLIDAYS How do you spend you summer holidays? Are you the on the go sort or relaxing on the beach type? When it comes to holidays, I am thinking no rushing around or time schedules normally. It is time to unwind relax and see some sights if that is part of the plan.  Sometimes it is just sitting around the campfires or laying in bed reading a good book. A bookworm I'm not , but I like to read for pleasure and to be entertained. It was always one of my favourite things to do as a kid , when camping read a good scary book . BOOKS  to ENRICH YOUR LIFE A recent survey was made about the top 100 books of all time. Those listed are very interesting, from Uncle  Toms Cabin,   Margeret Atwoods or Orwells 1984,  To kill a mockingbird and the Harry Potters series . There were of course several others  like Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Charles Dickens  to name a few. THE MAIN EVENT Yes as the media and those that watched tuned in to the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan. It was again a magical, fairytale setting. (even hollywood can't do it better) . From the magnificent Windsor Castle estate, the flower covered entry of the Chapel and the red tunic guards lining the staircase  - what can one say, it was beautiful, glamorous and amazing. From the moment the guests arrived , the groom and family and the final moment when the future new Windsor stepped from the limousine it was the wedding gown and the amazing train that was the awe moment. A simple sophicated, clean line wedding gown that suited her beautifully. No frills or lace. Only the delicate airy train that was held in place by that stunning diamond tiara. So we can all remember the day with visions of the royal coach pulled by white horses, streets packed with waving people and the magical wedding. DIAMONDS & MORE The season of weddings and the Royal wedding  will no doubt be watched by millions. It is reported she will be showered with diamonds as gifts.  Yes and what girl does not love diamonds. Recently a 6karat Blue Diamond sold at auction in Geneva for $6.7 million . The Farnese Blue diamond looks truly heavenly , though it does look like a sapphire.  This gem apparently was once worn by Marie Antionette as part of a tiara  and then made its journey from Spain, France, Italy and Austria. So diamonds be they blue , yellow , pink or the classic sparkler are something I am  sure most girls would wear. So enjoy the sparkle, pomp and weekend  everyone!

MUSIC MADNESS ....... and more Hi everyone, hope your weekend was a pleasant one and all the Moms were treated royally.  MUSIC LOVERS  Well for the weekend I ,we were totally immersed in watching the Eurovision song contest. For those who don't know about it  or maybe only heard something about it. Well let me tell you it is  a very BIG event in Europe.  Just to give you an idea, Celine Dion  sang at the  contest and i do believe she won.  And of course ABBA  made it big from it. So basically all of Europe is part of it,  as is Australia as a guest .  I was lucky enough to actually see the contest live  here   a WÖW moment.   For anyone who loves music and live performances it is the best show in town. This year it was held in beautiful Portugal. 25 performances, and voting done by public and a jury. IT lasts hours, so a die hard fan will be watching it till the early hours.  Even here  some restaurants and theatres were holding  song contest parties.    ITs a

ON THE ROAD Planning a trip via road..... can be exciting. I like the idea of discovering off -the- road places or sights along the way.  Travelling at your own pace and just stopping at some small town . European towns are always quaint and cozy. I am always amazed at just how beautiful they are with stone built houses or white washed walls. Window sills overflowing with colourful flowers or adorned with shutters. Its really worth the trip. I like to be comfortable well travelling and having to not worry about being to hot or cold . A great jacket with pockets to keep some items more handy is important and a utility jacket works well for that. LOVING NEUTRAL SHADES one jacket or blazer with plenty of pockets. Check! Its something I learnt the hard way, when travelling it is much easier to have your passport, sunglasses or pen  handy, then to have to rummage through the handbag to find these things.  Pockets are the best storage place.
