LIFE LATELY @HOME// Lifestyle, wellness, inspiration

HERE WE GO AGAIN Hi everyone!!  hope you all had a relatively good Easter weekend there. We had chilly weather so any plans to sit out were cancelled. Just last night there was such strange weather, thunder and lightning, and SNOW.   Again we are in a full lockdown... like so many in Europe. We are all in the same boat, unfortunately.   So all one can do is s tay calm and wait.......     Meanwhile I have been checking out some courses to take later in spring summer .... if all goes well. 🐥🐇EASTER WEEKEND 🐣🐑 Well we had a very quiet weekend there wasn't much to do, outdoors was to chilly to sit,  not like a few days before we had such warm weather . But one thing that was funny and lifted my spirit, was seeing an old classic film, Harvey. If you re not familiar its stars Jimmy Stewart  and a imaginary rabbit. A delight to watch and  a fun comedy! OH MATEY One thing I have always loved is being by the water or seaside, another is goin...

INSPIRATION & MOVIES// Lifestyle

THE WEEKEND  :::: Happy Leap Day Feb 29th It's the weekend and time to unwind. One of the most enjoyable ways for me  are movies. Some movies are so , so  and others are memorable! Some are also very inspiring! They can  inspire one in many different ways, to dream , to learn , to travel and explore or even write.  One film I was inspired with is one about NASA - set in the late 1960s called HIDDEN FIGURES . It was an amazing film about women that worked as scientists at NASA.  One of those women was Katherine Johnson, she was a mathematician.  Well just recently she died at the age of 101.   Hers was a an amazing story and life. That film was very interesting and enlightening. I have always found things interesting when visiting  a planetarium , or when there are solar or moon eclipses.  So to watch this film was truly amazing about the life and work of each of them.  Of course there are many more space films, most ...

GETTING READY FOR FALL? / lifestyle

FALL OR AUTUMN ...   a beautiful season September the start of the fall. The season when the leaves start to turn golden or red,  the children are back to school and parents are busy bustling them off to school.... hmm .  Yes it is that time of year. There are so many things I want to start to do, for me September is like a new adventure, a chance to find or explore new things. Fashion wise or travels, a new craft or hobby perhaps. Somethings I want  to do ZUMBA. .. whats not to love about the idea of working up a sweat to the latin beats, its lively and looks like fun! So mmm perhaps i will check out a class for starters. Have you tried Zumba ? CRAFTING ... or DIY   something i also like to do more of. I have so many saved DIYs that its hard to figure out which one to start.  Though i did make some of those nifty heating packs, came in handy when i hurt my back. What are some of your DIY crafting projects? TRAVEL...

LET'S TALK SHORTS// Fashion

SUMMER SHORTS:::: Le BERMUDA style How many pair of shorts do you have?  The usual wardrobe probably has a pair of denim shorts or cut-offs or an sporty athletic pair. the biker short.  Those are great for a very casual look, like going to the beach or when camping.  But if you want to wear a pair that are a little more stylish , more chic or more versatile  then a pair of bermudas are an option. They are longer , looser fitting and i think very stylish.  Whether wearing them when out shopping or perhaps a trip.  They look great worn with a blazer , simple stylish dressed up look or with a nice pullover, even a sweat top for a more casual day. So lets go BERMUDA definitely my kind of style! BLACK & WHITE SIMPLICITY WITH STYLE LOOSE & COMFORTABLE LOOK DRESSY STYLE PERFECT BUSINESS OR TRAVEL LOOK CASUAL COMFORT images via pinterest

FASHION RESTYLING// fashion

RESTYLE  - A SIMPLE THING I recently wrote a post about fashion and the environment , and I am sure a lot of readers wondered its strange , a fashion blogger that is writing about environment. But it was more a information and understanding where and how the fashions we wear are produced and the effects. Then I thought of my mom and things she talked about or would wear. YES my mom loved clothes! She was stylish but classic. She wore matching purses and shoes, gloves and matching pantsuits, dress sets. But she also was good at changing a dress  or outfit by having it restyled.  Something like a long floral party dress, she had it shortened  and wore it as a summer outfit. Or she took a crochet style dress with a shawl and had the shawl  made into sleeves for the dress.   These are just a few of the  REStyling things she would  do.  So her idea to restyle an outfit  had an influence on me. It is true our...

WINTERY FEELING // fashions

IS  IT SPRING OR IS IT WINTER? Middle of March and it seemed like spring had arrived finally. I am sure like most people they were feeling happy to have the warmer temperatures too. After the winter temperatures that hit all of Europe - then last week  it was so warm and sunny with 14C. It was such a relieve to not have to bundle up in so much winter wear. But sadly it was  not going to last, the weekend will bring us snow again.  So what to do  or wear when the temperates yoyo up and down like that?  It is for me the most difficult time.  Can you wear only a light coat, or cover up with winter coat? Never know exactly. I usually go for a knit top under a light coat or  option 2 winter coat with lighter clothes under. WARMING UP when it is still chilly! This gorgeous shearling is for sure comfortable and warm. Something that will last for years. A nice knit dress and knee high boots ( for simple casual lo...

DECK THE HALLS//decor

ALL THE STOCKINGS IN A ROW  The traditional Christmas stocking is a must have. And there are so many to pick from. The cute kiddy ones, the traditional red and whites or the glamorous type  . Lately I have  a love for  plaid and it is a bit of traditional print to have during the holidays. A few prints in plaid would look great hanging on the door, or bedposts,  and the fireplace if you have one.   So to make it more part of a tradition with a stocking,  decided to get to work on  creating a rustic faux fireplace.  There really isn't much place for a real one in an apartment but with some ideas of what a wintery fireplace brings to mind, it was top on the list to get this holiday. International Womens Day // events

MARCH 8 the day woman around the world made their voices be heard. So what was your day like, mine was more focused on women from the past that made changes  or were inspirations to other women or girls. There are several .  Who were those that inspired you or you admired? For me some that inspired me  were the french women   actress Catherine Deneuve, the classic beauty, stylish , sophisticated.  Katherine Hepburn,  the feisty woman who wore slacks and looked chic.  Coco Chanel or Marlene Dietrich  each had a big influence in fashion or films.  Jolie or Amal the new beauties of today. Politically  there are, Thatcher, Gandi, or Bacchelet, Merkel , woman who have made differences  in the world politics , somewhere to make BIG changes. World figures like Mother Theresa  the soulful loving woman , who cared for the needy. Spent her life to help others .  The brave young  girl Malala,  who brought much h...

BEING ME & more

Somethings you can't change and somethings you can..the color of your hair, your appearance, or your shape - but I think one thing for me that has not changed is my taste in clothes. i was never a blue jeans and tshirt type,  but i do like how some girls can look gorgeous  in them.  ( basically i didn't care for the stiffness of denim jeans and zippers. but  never say never……) I thought  I would  share my favorite things and styling thoughts.  Fragrances  (+great Lipstick) is top on the list , why?  Well I would say my mom  was the biggest influencer. she said, no outfit is complete without a wonderful fragrance. The scent is what people will remember you by -  that  and your appearance.  and of course the first 30 seconds is when you make the first impression. J ewelry  one of my other weaknesses -  a nice piece of jewelry can add to simple basic outfit the extra, be it earrings, n...
