DIRNDLS & BEER// Lifestyle,Travel

GET READY FOR OCTOBERFEST This week is the beginning of Octoberfest. The traditional festival that is held every year . The most famous one of course is held in Munich it lasts for 18 days  beginning mid September to begin of  October . The festival has its roots in Bavaria .   Vienna also has a Wiesn  festival though much  smaller in size , it is held at the Prater Amusement park and is quite popular.  I would guess it is less rowdy also. What to WEAR? A DIRNDL of course! The numbers of people that attend are extraordinary. Ladies are dressed up in their dirndls- a outfit with  a tight bodice and full skirt , worn over a white blouse and  with an apron.  It's a traditional german outfit that is worn for various occasions, not only Octoberfest.  The  designs vary with different fabrics, some are very fancy with embroidered bodices or a more simpler style.  You can have one custom made or buy ready to wear. The choices are endless. The colours are like a rainbo

ONLY THREE??

3 MONTHS TO GO..... I am not usually one to get out early with holidays , but I realized it is only 3 months till  Christmas!! And I am really excited because it was announced the performers for this years concert will be  Jose Feliciano. The concert I am talking about is the famous Christmas in Vienna. This concert is world famous and no wonder. Past performers have been,  Placido Domingo, Natalie Cole, Pavarotti,  Tony Bennett.... and the Viennas Boy Choir,  only to name few. I  was so excited when I read the  news . It is not everyday one gets to see him perform and he is a legend and a super talented guitarist. Would love to go see but tickets to such concert are highly sought after and difficult to get a hold of.  Fingers crossed we get some.  The concert not only is a sell out, but it is a magnificent venue  and sight to see with the lights , trees  and decorations.  Its like being inside a great big beautiful Christmas present. It is the highlight of

FANTASTIC FALL -fashion

FALL IS OFFICIALLY HERE! Some of us get into the fall mood and bring out our warmer clothing. I personally love the fall season, more and more.  The cooler temperatures and fresh mornings just rejuvenate me.  So I am hoping to make use of my fall wardrobe , but perhaps there are a few things to add to it. Some of my favourites are knitwear, whether a sweater, top or dress , knits are super comfortable. TRENDS  love or hate them Wild Animals The seasons trend  are all about ANIMAL prints, yes they are back again, Leopard, snake, or zebra print.  I adore the leopard prints and see so many designer have incorporated it with other prints, i.e. plaids with leopard. Micheal Kors is one example.  I admit i had a thing for leopard, but only few pieces, a coat, a handbag  and pair of shoes ( killer heels, dangerous to walk in)  but would not wear all together, more as a accent only.  The purse with a simple pant suit or black dress,  heels with the LBD and so forth.   So ar

FIRST WEEK OF FALL// lifestyle culture

IN THE CITY AT FALL It is officially fall and it definitely feels like it.  After record hot temperatures in Europe we now have the normal temperatures of autumn.  The weather being not so great it was a chance to see some films, in particular the Romy Schneider movies. It happens to be the Anniversary or her birthdate Sept, 23.  For anyone not familiar with Romy, she was a international star or Europes  and Austrias darling. She became well known for the Sissi movies about the Empress Elisabeth. Later she starred in several other european films  French films with Alain Delon. Her life itself  was like a movie. I wanted to see some of her movies,  other then the Sissi one. Movies made in the 50s  , 60s and later. There is also an Austrian award named Romy. So she is truly a loved star of Austria. She reminds me of  American actresses Sandra Dee or Sally Field.   Here is  a link to French Vogue article about her 10 classic films Romy films EN

SUNDAYS at the PARK// Lifestyle

Fall Time is FUN TIME: The weather has been absolutely amazing the ideal temperatures and sunny makes it a perfect time to go to the amusement park. The one most famous for its Ferris wheel, which happens to be the oldest ferris wheel in Europe or the first one in Europe - of course it has been updated so it is safe to go on.  The park is called the Prater which is located close to the city center. It is open from April to October  so it is nice to visit in the fall. There are also nightly fireworks, bands and other events held throughout  the year. The Prater is filled with rides that I would say one might find in most amusements parks, the scary ho use, bumper cars, slides  and rollercoasters but the Ferris wheel is special  with its red painted carriages that are enclosed. Its like a little cabin in the sky and the views are amazing.   Also for any 007 Bond fans  the park was featured in one of the movies. Can you guess which one?

FALLing for SCARF STYLES

SCARF DESIGNS  A scarf has many uses - we would normally wear one maybe around the neck, to tie up the hair, or as seen on some handbags wrapped around the handle.  I do like a scarf for tying up the hair whether as a hairband look or wrapped around ponytails. Truthfully I am not a scarf person , other then for winter or cold mornings. Wearing a wooly scarf draped over my coat okay - but that is as far as i go. But that being said, I do love scarf print dresses or tops. The  prints, designs are eye catching and look wonderful. Think Hermes the classic style of scarfs. The prints are fun and different and something that adds interest to a outfit. Below is one skirt that I love. It be great to wear summer and fall with  a simple shirt, top  or in the fall with a nice knit top, tall boots.  Are you a scarf lover?  more to try from skirts to dresses fotos via t´zara

FASHION FLASHBACKS TRENDS// Fashions

ALL ABOUT TRENDS Fashion  is all about trends and being on top of the latest trends, for those that have a large following  it is important to showcase those trends - be it designers or latest styles from other retailers. Some trends were okay , some I wondered about.  Here are some trends that had me wondering. THE FURRY SLIPPER aka gucci It was everywhere the furry slip-on shoe by GUCCI . Every influencer on instragram  seemed to being  wearing these fuzzy things.  I love slippers or slip ons,, but truth is  to me those furry things are more suitable  in the bedroom. Reminded me of the leather slippers my dad would wear, minus the fur .  I did like the plain slip-on though , for a cool casual roundabout the house or errands. Don't get me wrong I adore Gucci. The Belt  and the purses.    PLASTIC BAGS and the ENVIRONMENT  Lately its been in the news plastic is polluting our planet. The water , the oceans and animals are found dead after e
