No summer is complete without a trip to the seaside and it was wonderful to take a trip to  north part of germany  to a place called Travemunde First idea was to see a town called Lubeck. It is on the list of cultural sites on the Unesco world heritage places and it was worth the trip -  but for me I was more eager to get to the sea. There is nothing like the smell of the sea  and the sound of the waves. Travemunde is a ideal place to spend the day or holidays sitting on the beach or walking along the lovely boardwalk. Most people think of boating along the Venice canals or in Amsterdam or seeing places like Paris or Rome as their number one holiday destination. For sure those places are the most visited cities in Europe. But to my surprise Berlin  is getting to be more a trendy place with work , fashions and film festivals. If you plan a trip there, then a day trip on one of the river cruise boats is definitely a good way to see the the city from a different view. And it is so relaxing. Spending a leisurely 2 -3 hours on a boat enjoying the sunshine and having a nice lunch on the top deck.  Now that is a holiday! Here are a few views of Berlin  along the river Spree. With views of the old and modern architecture, houseboats and floating restaurants,  and  other interesting things. Hope you enjoy and perhaps take a river cruise and visit Berlin.
