KEEPING THE FEET WARM December, my most favourite month and we will be getting our first snowfall this week. Winter is not complete without SNOW.  Yes, some of us love the snow for different reasons and then some hate it. But I choose to enjoy the snowy white stuff well it lasts, that is one thing about living in the city, there is not much snow , usually it melts away in a few days.  So well it does get colder, a pair of boots to wear is one of the things needed. Whether a pair of dressier   or a nice casual boot, these boots work well. Whether you live in the city or enjoy the outdoors  there are boots for anytime. A TALL BOOT knee high boots are on trend but really when didn't a high boot go out of style. Its a perfect item to wear with dresses or slacks.   FINDING a PERFECT COAT for Winter Time for a bit of  retail therapy,  and now that the weather is starting to get more chilly, my one wish is to find a nice warm coat or jacket to bundle up in.   Even though we are into the second lockdown, things are starting to look better . The news of a vaccine has made me feel huge relief or a heavy weight lifted  I figure  now is good time to get a nice coat. COAT & JACKETS From a casual style or a more dressier one, a nice coat is crucial for winter. One that keeps one warm and cozy against the winds or snow.  DRESSY CLASSIC STYLES. A short version or the knee length style both are suitable,  wearing with slacks or dresses. Love some colour, for the winter, the camel and burgundy shades are perfect additions.  6 STYLES for the SEASON Well it is only October and it is only fall, but the last few nights the temperatures started to feel more and more like winter is around corner. There is even snow in the mountains.  So perhaps it is time to start looking at some jackets   or coats.  What is your favourite - coat or jackets? Classic or sporty? JACKETS for the WIN(TER) From teddy bear styles,  sheepskin looks or the great parka, these coats are a good choice for the season- I love a hooded jacket for the warmth it gives and the coverage . A fuzzy teddy style  is ideal  and looks extra warm, picking one with plenty of room for the sweaters is important also. A sheepskin faux look is another classic look for anytime. Paired with those chunky boots, it works well together.  A good parka is also  another favourite of mine, the longer length is ideal to keep the legs warm and the hood  on it is heavenly!  Really perfect for those cold winds. the HOLIDAY SPIRIT HO HO HO,  yes the holiday season is here. I know most people are super busy getting things done from decorating, baking or shopping, So to give you a bit of change perhaps a mini tour of Christmas markets-  in Europe are truly amazing in all the cities. Today I thought I would share some sights from the Christkindle markt. There are many more wonderful markets to see all around the city. It is one of the best ways to spent the holidays. WINTERY BOUGHS &  DECORATION great place for Christmas gifts, some unique handmade and traditional things.

HOW TO REALLY ENJOY THE WONDERFUL WINTERLAND that is one way to look at... others might not agree. Some parts of Europe  have been  hit by excessive amounts of snow up to 3M . Roads are closed , ski hills  and avalanche warnings are extreme.  So well we dig out from the snow , i think about  times when I lived where it was so cold snowy , i call polar conditions. The only way to survive is keep warm , enjoy it the best you can or stay in.  MY ideal winter plan is to enjoy it and do things that are fun. Bring out  the XC skis,  the backpack and thermos.  Dress warm and  have FUN. Some ways to really enjoy the winter outdoors,  WAYS TO ENJOY WINTER OUTDOORS  BACKYaRD FUN Set up fire pit , roast marshmallows or frankfurters , or beans. DRESSING FOR THE COLD 🎄🏂🎄🎄🏂🏂🎄🎄🎄 Holiday time is when some of us head outside, whether to go skating, tobogganing or skiing.  Nothing is worst than having cold feet or being cold. I can say I do know about is cold feet, having spent time living in a extreme cold climate with temperatures  minus 30s ,  its one thing i can say is not fun. We were always out in the winter whether on hikes or skiing.  Staying warm and comfortable  was very important . So here are some necessary items that will keep you warm .  I should mention if you are out in the cold don't wear your jeans, they really are not warm enough and if get wet your going to be freezing cold. HEAD to TOE outfit SOCKS starting with the feet, a good sock   wool  mix or   other,  avoid cotton ones. THERMAL wear is next, it helps to keep you warm and dry  Fleece polar is also great to wear over , whether pants or top , it stays dry, ...

ICE SKATING & DREAMING What to do in winter? Ice-skating maybe. Even when all the wonderfulChristmas markets are over , we can still enjoy the beautiful  city centre. And if you love to skate the most amazing spot to go is at the RATHAUS.  It is a dreamland or as they call it Eislauftraume    iceskating dream. Which it is! The facility is fantastic with   larger ice rinks and the ice pathways that lead around the lite park area for a more quiet space to enjoy. Later after all that activity , there are several food venues to nourish your hunger.  Beers to hot chocolates and other yummy delights. It is an absolutely great way to spend the evening or weekend outing. HAPPY WEEKEND  EVERYONE! 

IS  IT SPRING OR IS IT WINTER? Middle of March and it seemed like spring had arrived finally. I am sure like most people they were feeling happy to have the warmer temperatures too. After the winter temperatures that hit all of Europe - then last week  it was so warm and sunny with 14C. It was such a relieve to not have to bundle up in so much winter wear. But sadly it was  not going to last, the weekend will bring us snow again.  So what to do  or wear when the temperates yoyo up and down like that?  It is for me the most difficult time.  Can you wear only a light coat, or cover up with winter coat? Never know exactly. I usually go for a knit top under a light coat or  option 2 winter coat with lighter clothes under. WARMING UP when it is still chilly! THE ULTIMATE THRILL America has football and the Super Bowl, Austria has ski racing and Kitzbuhel. The most thrilling and perhaps famous ski event. Austria's golden  event  that attracts tens of thousands visitors to see ski racers hurdle down the hill at speeds of over 100km. Kitzbuhel is the St. Moritz, Whistler or Aspen of Austria and the town gets the celebrity visitors also.  Alpine town with colourful painted buildings , narrow lanes  and adorable shops. Views over alpine village  For any serious ski lover it is something to watch  and the ski heroes of the various countries are there to give the visitors a great show of courage, skill and enormous talent. From superstar skiers like Svindal,  Hirscher,  and former greats like Tomba and more that have challenged  this dare devil ski hill. Kitzbuhel is hopping with events the weekend of the race. So if you feel like taking a weekend trip this will not disappoint ...
