HOW TO REALLY ENJOY THE WONDERFUL WINTERLAND
that is one way to look at... others might not agree. Some parts of Europe have been hit by excessive amounts of snow up to 3M . Roads are closed , ski hills and avalanche warnings are extreme. So well we dig out from the snow , i think about times when I lived where it was so cold snowy , i call polar conditions.
The only way to survive is keep warm , enjoy it the best you can or stay in. MY ideal winter plan is to enjoy it and do things that are fun. Bring out the XC skis, the backpack and thermos. Dress warm and have FUN.
Some ways to really enjoy the winter outdoors,

Set up fire pit , roast marshmallows or frankfurters , or beans.
Bring the fire logs, and shovels, make a snow hut
Make ice candles , line the walks with.
Best thing about this is it doesn't cost and its fun for families to do.
Even though its snowy doesn't mean you can't enjoy the moment!
Start early to make , shovel snow into a large mound, pack the snow with shovel , takes branches to use a markers for wall thickness.once high enough and the surface is packed, begin in one spot to make entry by carefully shovelling out snow. the snow should not fall inside well shovel, , IF not let stand and pack snow more. the sun will also help make it more solid surface

DIYs to try for winter fun.
The Swedish fire log simple and reliable .
will burn for hours , so you can heat up water, hot chocolate , roast hot dogs
A Snow HUT Quinzhee hut or Lumitalo (Finnish)
These are used for survival reasons in the wilderness but can
be something to try in winter.
A good way to have fun and get some exercise. Kids love to make it and play
but make sure to follow instructions and **keep an eye on
so it does not collapse .

SIMPLE ICE CANDLES
use 2 containers, one bigger the other smaller
fill larger container with water , place smaller one in middle with some added weightso it does not float. Place in freezer or outside.
remove the containers and place tee light inside.
walkways lite with these block ice candles are devine. to see
(we used them along our driveway in winter)
