HOW GREAT WAS IT?

Welcome to the New Year everyone!

I guess most of us made it through the holidays with many happy memories and special moments. I will say ours was a very quiet event, other then New Years eve was extremely loud, all over the city people were setting off fireworks.

But all in all it was a great night with a few traditional things like the GLucksbringers . A lucky treat or goodie, that is eaten , then before midnight a british comedy skit is shown called, Dinner for one. It is so popular here and in Germany.

So the celebrations are over and it seems like a daze to me. How quickly it came and went.

Its the start of the new year and many of us make a list of resolutions. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I will say i am not one to make a list (other then grocery list, or other necessary things).

But I can see why some do,, its like a kick start into getting going.

The only thing i concentrate on now is getting healthier, stronger and fit. Trying to exercise more, get outside more and just taking better care. The other things, well will have to wait or planned later.

But if I were to make a list this would be

on it.....

The NEW YEAR LIST

Keeping FIT, this is really my most important goal. I am not into jogging, but enjoy skiing and cycling , dancing and fitness excerises. i.e. sit ups galore + others🎿🏊

So joining a group will be motivating!

Exploring more galleries! there are so many to see it be nice to see a few more each month. 🎨🎭

Learning a new craft, i.e. stained glass or pottery, nothing like having something you made

A few trips again. this is always my favourite thing to do, but sometimes it does not work , because of work schedule or health matters.🛫🚢🚢

Reading more books. this is really a challenge sometimes, finding a good book.📕📖

Enjoying the moments... and this I find the most satisfying . Be it sitting in the park,being outdoors, or at home, unwinding and listening to music , lighting candles and just relaxing🎥🎧.🎶🎸🎺

So my list is probably not so big or grand but it is something to look forward to.

CELEBRATE PUNK DESIGNER JUST THIS month it was Vivienne Westwood's 80th birthday. The fashion designer who brought PUNK fashions to the forefront. Her designs were over the top , colourful, eccentric and I think abit wild. She still is designing and even some of her designs were part of the Life ball held here in the past, she also designed the costumes for the ballet performance for New years. INSTAGRAM REAL STARS?

WONDER IF SHE IS REAL? How many people follow their favourite instagram and feel perhaps this is what a real person looks like and maybe lives like. I am not talking celebrities like Rihanna or Kardashians or any of the other major celebrities . I am not a big follower of instagram, but for those that are there are a few surprises such as one very popular Instagram Star is actually a virtual reality image, not a REAL person. These computer generated images look so real that people are actually thinking it is a real person. Something strange about that , if someone is able to fool people in such a way Firstly it is not stated this is not a real person This to me is funny. with all the talk about fake news etc. So why is it allowed to have computer generated images allowed to be part of? Okay maybe its like following a cartoon hero, i.e. SUPERMAN or WONDERWOMAN - but this we know are only characters not REAL PEOPLE. These so called stars gorgeous , flawless and h

SOMETHING DIFFERENT I have to say I love color and prints, and when I saw the work of this Kenyan photographer Thandiwe Murui , I was in AWE. Such vibrant prints that make a statement . The prints or the checkerboard are definitely eye- catching. ( I happen to have a checkerboard top that I wear as a coverup) This might not be for everyones taste, but sometimes it is fun to be a bit wilder!
