As I  was looking at the fashion magazines there is always something that  reminds me of the past. Whether it is a hairstyle, jewelry or fashions. What was the IT item comes back in vogue. Designer handbags being one, Pradas nylon shoulder bag, or Fendi Baguette bag or the Jackie bag.  That is for designer pieces , but also  fashion is repeating itself, the fringe is again on the runway.   Even one famous model wore a vintage item, a 1950s designer dress. When the Oscars was held Julia Roberts wore a Vintage Valentino gown. Of course this is not something we can all do or afford , designer pieces. But to keep an eye out for good quality pieces, well made and stylish is what to look for. Natural materials are also a good choose.   FINDING a PERFECT COAT for Winter Time for a bit of  retail therapy,  and now that the weather is starting to get more chilly, my one wish is to find a nice warm coat or jacket to bundle up in.   Even though we are into the second lockdown, things are starting to look better . The news of a vaccine has made me feel huge relief or a heavy weight lifted  I figure  now is good time to get a nice coat. COAT & JACKETS From a casual style or a more dressier one, a nice coat is crucial for winter. One that keeps one warm and cozy against the winds or snow.  DRESSY CLASSIC STYLES. A SPLASH of COLOUR  This one dress was really a surprise. The fit is perfect, the length ideal, but what I really love about this dress is the flared bottom.  It drapes lovely and has a bit of swing to it when you walk.   I must say I fell in love with it, for the summer it  is ideal.  The other thing the price was unbelievable, that is why I am even more surprised with it.  Its a simple  A line cut with the added flare bottom  just makes it extra fun to wear.  How I wish  it came in more colors, I would have been happy to have more! Definitely my kind of style. A FEW THINGS.... shopping , fashions, trips? Well it is nearly the end of July, like many places the news is all about the virus. It can get overwhelming for many. We have been through lockdown, but like some European countries things slowly started to open( carefully mind you).  Borders opened then closed, but still some are open. Meanwhile we have been taking it careful. I had been looking forward to a trip in the spring, that didn't happen. But sooner or later we might be  taking a short trip just  a nice change of scenery.   I thought I should get something different to wear just in case plus the sales are in full swing. SUMMER HOLIDAYS & SHOPPING ADVENTURES W e probably remember the souvenirs and knick-  knacks  we get when  we are on holidays. From the loud printed t shirts to the small decor items.  It a bit of memorabilia we can look at  and think, I bought when i was there in......... S ometimes i thought okay, a nice idea to collect certain things that a regional or very traditional to a country and unique.   LATIN AMERICA - colourful and lively I can recall when we took trips to mexico , the tourists would buy the sombreros, though difficult to pack, (if you like to wear a large hat on the flight)      Something I do remember getting were maracas  , those instruments that are nice to decorate with. A SHOPPING DILEMMA I can say my shopping habits have changed  a bit since moving here, and also probably the fact I don't see the need as much to shop every sale. Basically I got tired of running about looking  for the item on sale, and it not being available.  I of course like a sale like anyone. but the frustration can be to much,  and I realized later I managed without the item  Of course we need to shop for things if they  need replacing , shoes for one, or clothing  that doesn't fit or is well worn - then there is no option.   BACK TO BASICS But truth is I look to get something that works well with what i already have in my closet  and can be worn in several different ways.  Mixing colours and prints, solids and textures. END OF SUMMER BLUES Its the middle of August and this year I am feeling totally blue about the fact summer is coming  quickly to an end. Why? I  normally have no issues with the change of seasons, perhaps it because the fall fashions are being sold or the fact that I missed out on summer sales.   SHOPPING FRUSTRATION Frustation is the word! I had my eye on some pieces , tops, white slacks and other items , picked my size , added to shopping cart, continued looking and finally checkout and boom, some items were not  available or the size no longer available,  words I don't want to hear! So basically, didn't get any of the sale items.  I am not getting the fall mood at all, first the weather is not cool enough to start to wear anything fall like.
