WARM WINTERY STYLE The winter weather has really arrived in parts of Austria with endless snowfall.  It is so beautiful, crisp white and I love the winter season for that reason.(minus the extreme cold temperatures). Another thing I do love is the look of fur. Faux furs or Fun Furs  t he selection and colors are something one can go wild over , as there are some really interesting looks this winter. Here are a few style that might be nice to wear this winter. A RED TEDDY COAT   yes red is big this season and what a statement coat this one is. Would look great with those leather slacks or a simple velvet dress.   Even worn casually with denim works. A fun, colourful look.   Maybe, for Valentines Day. THE ULTIMATE THRILL America has football and the Super Bowl, Austria has ski racing and Kitzbuhel. The most thrilling and perhaps famous ski event. Austria's golden  event  that attracts tens of thousands visitors to see ski racers hurdle down the hill at speeds of over 100km. Kitzbuhel is the St. Moritz, Whistler or Aspen of Austria and the town gets the celebrity visitors also.  Alpine town with colourful painted buildings , narrow lanes  and adorable shops. Views over alpine village  For any serious ski lover it is something to watch  and the ski heroes of the various countries are there to give the visitors a great show of courage, skill and enormous talent. From superstar skiers like Svindal,  Hirscher,  and former greats like Tomba and more that have challenged  this dare devil ski hill. Kitzbuhel is hopping with events the weekend of the race. LE PARKA  something that is definitely needed when the cold winds start to blow and being outdoors. I have had the same Old parka for  years, its been with me every winter.  It is probably my most worn jacket , its light, extra warm and versatile  but after seeing so many new versions of  parkas  I think I need a change. MOUNTAIN RETREAT / BERGES URLAUBS No winter is  complete without a trip to the mountains  and especially for any serious skier. There are plenty of places to ski and every weekend a ski event to see. All within a few hours by train, auto or bus. From Salzburg to Innsbruck, Tyrol ski hills are close but there are several other places to visit that are not maybe so well known.  Whether you are a downhill skier or XC skier  there are plenty of fabulous resorts to explore. WELCOMING 2018 .... what is your resolution for 2018?? Usually people start the new year with  their NEW YEARS resolutions like diets, gym or marathons etc.  I use to maybe  mentally have  good intentions to start, but after some months it comes to end -  like most people so i have read. Goals that are not met can make it worst for a person , according to a study done. So why make resolutions?   No one wants to fail or not reach a goal. So if gym membership does not work , then do something else you like to do -  walking, swimming , skiing or dancing.   An activity you enjoy is more likely to be the one you will keep doing. Resolutions -  I don't bother to make  any and truth is works much better for me. Of course I have ideas and things that need to be done and usually does happen, but somethings one can no control, like ones health, workplace situations  or even personal relationships.
