At the VIENNalle// Lifestyle, event,

October or the fall season is one I look forward to for different reasons. Two special events are held this  time of year. Firstly the Long night at the Museum is usually held, but not this year. The other event that is happening next week is the film festival Viennalle. As you can guess, if you read my other posts, I am a movie lover. I particularly like foreign films, plus others. The classics to comedy, action to mystery.   Perhaps because we would as a family go to the drive ins and see the latest films. I can remember it being such fun. So after that movies became a part of growing up.  There are a few I would like to see but with the situation as it is, think  I will skip this years event. But no problem, I can get into the spooky mood and see some Halloween films instead. 5 MOVIES TO GIVE YOU A THRILL One i like is an older one with Johnny Depp ,  Sleepy Hollow.  A classic but well made. There is also one called Secret Window he stars in, written by Stephen King. (I am not a b

IDEAS for HALLOWEEN// Lifestyle, DIY, decor

A SPOOKY HALLOWEEN  Halloween is quickly approaching and for those that like to get into the mood there are plenty of fun DIYs and decorating ideas to find and make. I especially like the new look of painted pumpkins,  though not scarey they add a fun detail to the decor. some other things I find are fun  are the hanging bats. Another simple DIY is a scarecrow, simply get an old pair of jeans, a shirt , a hat, suspenders and stuff with newspapers, Same for the head, use a plain pillowcase to set hat on top. Place the scarecrow on a chair .or set against wall outside.   One blogger has several great DIY ideas to make for the season, like the glowing eyes  and other fabulous ideas she shared. my weekend, movies music & more// lifestyle

Here we are in the middle of October already - hard to believe how quickly 2020 has gone , even with all the changes in our lifes.     This week and weekend has been so chilly and rainy, no point going anywhere. Just staying in and keeping warm. We actually had a slight cold  after the sudden temperature changes from 21C to 9C. So i enjoyed the time making soups and resting up, plus watching some movies.  Nothing like a good movie to past the time. MOVIES review Two movies I really enjoyed are French but can be in english.  The first one  is called La Melodie a  story about a class of students learning to play the violin, and the teacher who has no experience with kids, but is classically trained. The kids in the film were super, and the acting was believable. A very inspiring film and uplifting. Something we can use, especially during these times.  Definitely Worth to see!  Film for the whole family. The second film is also music related, this time a young girl moves to Paris to at

Finding the right coat// Fashion

6 STYLES for the SEASON Well it is only October and it is only fall, but the last few nights the temperatures started to feel more and more like winter is around corner. There is even snow in the mountains.  So perhaps it is time to start looking at some jackets   or coats.  What is your favourite - coat or jackets? Classic or sporty? JACKETS for the WIN(TER) From teddy bear styles,  sheepskin looks or the great parka, these coats are a good choice for the season- I love a hooded jacket for the warmth it gives and the coverage . A fuzzy teddy style  is ideal  and looks extra warm, picking one with plenty of room for the sweaters is important also. A sheepskin faux look is another classic look for anytime. Paired with those chunky boots, it works well together.  A good parka is also  another favourite of mine, the longer length is ideal to keep the legs warm and the hood  on it is heavenly!  Really perfect for those cold winds. CLASSIC COATS The classic double breasted camel coat will

WEEKEND Delights // lifestyle

Here are a few things I do enjoy to have or do on the weekends. HEALTHY TREATS My weekend treats for the mornings. usually a nice fresh bake bun , glass of juice milk, sometimes a coffee. But once in a while i will make myself a smoothy. A TREAT using up the bananas that are getting to ripe. A simple treat to make STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHY take some ice cubes, milk, plain yogurt,(or flavoured vanilla), orange juice toss into blender. then ADD fresh fruit i.e. bananas,  strawberries blend at high speed till ice cubes are chopped up. Serve in a tall glass with slice of fresh strawberry  . **You can use whatever fruit you like, raspberries, pineapple, orange, mango or add juice for more flavour. Also you can skip the ice cubes if you prefer.  I more or less go by consistency I like it to be more thick , not to runny. FUN and GAMES I

RAIDING THE MENS WEAR Even though it is not my usual place to shop, sometimes you find something that is just right in the mens shops.   Now that the fall season is upon us and the baggy loose look is on trend, mens blazers can be the ideal piece to add to your wardrobe , plus a few other things. From sweatshirts to hoodies, take your pick. Some of my finds were a corduroy jacket with zipper closure. it was ideal for fall and worked well when wearing a knit sweater, a more roomy fit .   A simple casual look . OCTOBER IDEAS// lifestyle, @home

🎃🍃 Happy October Everyone ! 🍁🍂🍂 Here the feeling of fall is in full swing, chilly crisp mornings and the  trees are turning golden. Its getting darker earlier too. I have to say I was a bit down when the flowers outside started to die off.  The terrace lost all the lovely colours that I loved to sit outside with over summer. But not to despair, there are things I can do to make sure we have some colours still and later in spring.   I got some heather to plant in the pots and it really revived the area with the colors of white, deep purples and crimson. It really adds a lot.  Plus they are winter hardy and should grow back. INSPIRATION  Love the natural look of this mix of heather and tree branches for fall image kreativne techniky cz INSPIRATION VAN GOGHS IRISES Another plan is get bulbs and plant them  now, so there are flowers and a burst of colour  for spring. The usual flower that comes to mind are tulips but there are many spring bulbs to choice from , my favourites are the
