WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME...  and a chance to wish everyone a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I am grateful to be able to share some of the things i have learnt discovered or just read whether its fashion related, art,  wellness or travel tips over the last year. And also i am so pleased that the followers of Le Chic Mode are also enjoying reading the blog.  So to everyone  i hope you have   a FABULOUS  2019. 🍸🍸🍸

the NEW YEARS CeLEBRATIONs have already started in places around the world I n austria or vienna it is the centre of the city that is the main event, with stages setup all around the city, performers, and  dancing in the street. There will be a dance lesson Waltzing  on the pedestrian only street-  a really great thing to take part in, and fun too!  Fireworks have already started early, with people having their own celebration- but later is the main event and all over the city it is alight with fireworks.  So we plan to plug our ears and celebrate the evening with bubbly and music. One thing that is part of the celebration also is a small GLUCKSBRINGER.   A sort of lucky gift which is usually a  small marzipan piggy.   I think it also part of german and Scandinavian tradition .

🎉🎉GLAM STYLES for NEW YEARS EVE🎉🎉🎉 What I love about NEW YEARS eve is the fact one can really go all out with  your party look. (and of course i have always loved sparkle).  For me its the one time of year when we can all dress up in something glamorous. Looking elegant and chic. Men in their black suits, polished shoes and bowties.  So what i found are a few dresses for the special day,  THE PERFECT LBD you can never go wrong with a long black gown.  Simple and chic it will last you years. I have one similar to the chiffon sleeves one and its years old. RAVISHING RED VELVET thinking red is needed as it is always a great colour  for the festive seasons. Again it can be worn to other occasions.  or GORGEOUS RED TAFFETA Simple and chic looks ,  just add a pair of sparkle earrings or bracelet. Stunning looks for December 31 (these dresses make it hard to decide which one to pick) 2 are on my list.

WE ALL HAVE SUNG CHRISTMAS CAROLS OR LISTEN ED TO THEM OVER THE HOLIDAYS.   ONE I KNOW WE ALL KNOW IS SILENT NIGHT.  A SONG WRITTEN BY TWO AUSTRIANS , A PRIEST AND A TEACHER BACK IN 1818.  ITS BEEN KNOWN TO THE ONE SONG SANG ON CHRISTMAS EVE DURING WW1 - THE ONE TIME THAT  NO GUNS WERE HEARD, ONLY THIS ONE SONG. TO IMAGINE THAT.  THE SMALL STILLE NACHT CHAPEL IN OBERNDORF foto TVb oberndorf THE TUNE IS CALLED STILLE NACHT  AND THIS TUNE BECAME FAMOUS THE WORLD AROUND.   IT IS ALSO BEING CELEBRATED  200 YEARS  IN THE TOWN OF OBERNDORF WHERE IT WAS FIRST PLAYED ON DECEMBER 24TH AND AROUND THE  SALZBURG AREA. THERE ARE MUSEUMS AND PERFORMANCES BEING HELD THIS CHRISTMAS SPECIALLY FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL TUNE.   SO WHEN YOU SING THIS OR HEAR IT PLAYING , YOU CAN THINK OF AUSTRIA AND THE SMALL TOWN WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.

AUSTRIA  the beautiful little country known for the famous Alps , its famous music composers,  grand palaces, beautiful cities and delightful towns. Its worthwhile to explore and see. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄       🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Especially during the Christmas holidays. I shared some photos of scenes of Christmas here previous posts -  its a glimpse of the wonderful street lights and festivities. One thing that is really interesting is the other Christmas traditions.  There is of course St, Nick  , but also another more interesting one,  KRAMPUS.    St. Nick will visit  on December 6th, bringing small treats and gifts.  Krampus is the nasty one, he visits the naughty children.  So have you been naughty or nice? the custom dates back to old times and is part of the tradition in the mountain towns. Today it is part of Austrias folklore and custom for the holidays.

MAGICAL HOLIDAY LIGHTS 🎆🎄🎄🎄🎆 A stroll to the Christmas market at the magnificent City hall is always top on the list. Here you can find most anything,  Artisans and yummy treats. The classic heart shaped cookies, the delicious  Weihnacht punch and much, much more.....  Later you can go skating under all the decorated  trees. A MAGICAL EVENING! Hope you enjoy seeing the lights.

DRESSING FOR THE COLD 🎄🏂🎄🎄🏂🏂🎄🎄🎄 Holiday time is when some of us head outside, whether to go skating, tobogganing or skiing.  Nothing is worst than having cold feet or being cold. I can say I do know about is cold feet, having spent time living in a extreme cold climate with temperatures  minus 30s ,  its one thing i can say is not fun. We were always out in the winter whether on hikes or skiing.  Staying warm and comfortable  was very important . So here are some necessary items that will keep you warm .  I should mention if you are out in the cold don't wear your jeans, they really are not warm enough and if get wet your going to be freezing cold. HEAD to TOE outfit SOCKS starting with the feet, a good sock   wool  mix or   other,  avoid cotton ones. THERMAL wear is next, it helps to keep you warm and dry  Fleece polar is also great to wear over , whether pants or top , it stays dry, repels water so won't get wet .  NOTE just don't sta

CHOCOLATE LINED STREETS Who doesn't love CHOCOLATE? I  admit I have a weakness for chocolate, its a necessary thing. A must have and especially during the holidays.  So when i read this funny story from Germany - I was thinking wish I were there then! To scoop it up. A local chocolate maker had problems when all of a sudden things overflowed . Chocolate was  streaming down the street. Talk about streets lined with chocolate.  CHOCOLATE   A SPECIAL DEAR SANTA LETTER We may have kids or can recall writing a letter to Santa as a kid. To imagine finding a letter written 125 years ago  by a little girl to  Santa and the things she asked for.  A simply delightful story and  worth reading .  Its so appropriate for this time of year.  SANTA LETTER   IS SANTA REAL, Mommy? Well the story of SANTA is a good one, it makes children smile  with great anticipation for old St. Nick to arrive with presents. So do you tell your kids there is no Santa, he is

OH LA LA I absolutely love fragrance shops or the fragrance counters. That is alway s the first spot I stop when out shopping (followed by shoes, jewellery shops)  Fragrances for me are the icing on the cake. Doesn't matter what you are wearing, but if you have a fabulous fragrance on  it makes you feel better - and people may notice your perfumes. How many times has someone stopped you and asked, What are you wearing, it smells lovely?  I have had that happened so often.  Of course not all fragrances are the same on everyone. And that is why I don't think its always great to suggest a certain perfume for someone ,because of the reason.   I might like Chanel#5 , and someone else might not, for example.  But one thing I do recommend anyone, now is the time to check out Gift sets, I LOVE THEM! Why? Well there is more things in the gift sets that are part of the fragrance, like bath oils, body lotions  or an extra fragrance for the purse.  It is also a goo
