OSCARS & MORE//lifestyle

WHO WATCHED THE OSCARS? I always would watch them, but since moving to Europe it makes it more of a challenge. The best part for me are always the fashions - plus of course the movies. Unfortunately this time i missed it , (for good reason an emergence trip to the hospital) But i did see the fashions and looks later. What did you like and or not like? The fashions were for me a bit strange or perhaps just not inspiring.  From capes to pink bubblegum looks...... can't say there was any one look I loved. The jewels on the other hand YES. Lady gaga wore a fabulous diamond necklace  one word, WOW. The necklace is known as the Tiffany Diamond. Another actress also wore it to the Oscars - Audrey Hepbrun The diamond with said to worth $50 million. The 128.5 karat diamond was discovered in 1877 in South Africa. Is known as the largest diamond in the World.  The long diamond necklace worn by Charlize Theron , paired with some gorgeous bracelets . PAST

FASHION RESTYLING// fashion

RESTYLE  - A SIMPLE THING I recently wrote a post about fashion and the environment , and I am sure a lot of readers wondered its strange , a fashion blogger that is writing about environment. But it was more a information and understanding where and how the fashions we wear are produced and the effects. Then I thought of my mom and things she talked about or would wear. YES my mom loved clothes! She was stylish but classic. She wore matching purses and shoes, gloves and matching pantsuits, dress sets. But she also was good at changing a dress  or outfit by having it restyled.  Something like a long floral party dress, she had it shortened  and wore it as a summer outfit. Or she took a crochet style dress with a shawl and had the shawl  made into sleeves for the dress.   These are just a few of the  REStyling things she would  do.  So her idea to restyle an outfit  had an influence on me. It is true our moms have a big influence on ones style, at least my

CLOTHES WE WEAR // fashion lifestyle

FASHIONS IMPACT ON NATURE I am sure most of us had no idea how or  where a lot of our clothes comes from.  From start to finish the process of producing the products we buy.  It was for me a real eye opener reading about the effects that the process has on the environment. The reason I found it very interesting is because for many years i was involved  on educating kids about the environment and nature. They would learn about the environment, skills,  tree planting and much more .  It was truly was amazing how the kids had such interest and learned so much.  But getting back on topic, the fashion industry in most cases has a very detrimental effect on the environment. The CLOTHES WE WEAR CASHMERE  the one piece of clothing that is greatly sought after for its softness and wearability.  Something i didn't know was that the one place it comes from in Mongolia, has been overgrazed by the goats that are the source for cashmere. The Mongolian steppes gras

GOOD, BAD OR FUNNY?// lifestyle

NOT ONLY FASHION, A FRIENDLY CHAT Lately I have been stuck  as to what to write on the blog.  My mind has wandered to thinking about other things, from reno, decluttering or decorating. Even the thought of flowers and springtime. Just sometimes one can't  seem to get inspired to write. So today I thought I would share  a few of my naughty habits.  I don't think i am the only one with this . Home Routines   I usually have a day that is the laundry day, a routine we all have - but lately i let the pile of t-shirts , pile up (not my shirts). The endless changing of a shirt after one wear drives me nuts. SO no washing week! The closet was nearly empty and  no Tshirts left . Now what, wear the same one twice! Arm Wraps I have longer hair and like to tie it up with an elastic somedays. So i keep a few wrapped  around my wrist.  Not always a pretty thing, but for convenience more.  But then i had the idea wear a  more decorative hair ban
