RESTYLE - A SIMPLE THING
I recently wrote a post about fashion and the environment , and I am sure a lot of readers wondered
its strange , a fashion blogger that is writing about environment. But it was more a information
and understanding where and how the fashions we wear are produced and the effects.
Then I thought of my mom and things she talked about or would wear. YES my mom loved clothes!
She was stylish but classic.
She wore matching purses and shoes, gloves and matching pantsuits, dress sets.
She wore matching purses and shoes, gloves and matching pantsuits, dress sets.
But she also was good at changing a dress or outfit by having it restyled.
Something like a long floral party dress, she had it shortened and wore it as a summer outfit. Or she took a crochet style dress with a shawl and had the shawl made into sleeves for the dress.
These are just a few of the REStyling things she would do.
So her idea to restyle an outfit had an influence on me. It is true our moms have a big influence on ones style, at least my mom did on mine. I do like matching suits, or pantsuits for the polished finished look. But more is how learned to restyle a piece of clothing. I would take a blazer and change small things -like remove the shoulder pads and change the buttons, A simple navy blazer would get gold buttons. A black velvet trimmed with some gold . A coat or jacket added a faux fur collar. A plain denim piece added leather trim. The ideas are endless.
A FEW RESTYLE INSPIRATIONS

CLASSIC BLACK a black top by adding pearl details & shirt
A simple alteration can change an outfit completely. If the item is a well made and a stylish piece
why not ? Restyling or altering a piece of clothes is also a way we can change our wardrobe.
I am sure many of you have taken a pair of jeans and made them into to shorts.
So basically you can try restyling other pieces in your wardrobe.
So have you restyled any items?
