LE CHIC MODE

 When and where(wear)  Sequins have been around since ancient times. Early 1920s was the glam era , parties, dancing and sequins . Though a popular Look those sequins did not last,as they were of gelatin and would melt.   Now sequinsare massed produced and cheap.  I have a Love for sparkle and sequins . .so reading about the fashion was an eyeopener.  https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20230825-why-sequins-are-so-exhilarating-to-wear I hae s few pieces that I wear festive season, then one more casual one. A white  top with sequin stripes that can be worn anytime and in many different ways . Dressed up or down  with slacks, jeans , or a flowy skirt  endless ideas . I am so glad I bought it.  Really if you love something and can’t decide how to wear it , try it with different pieces , you might be surprised!  Summer style white cream  with silver accessories. 

  Dressed in Blue Beginning of spring I was looking for a nice dress to wear for going to dinners, summer parties or weddings. I loved the style, cut and color.  It’s a perfect dress to wear for just about anything. A simple wrap style with a tie on side. The hem is rounded , a nice detail. A v-neck front and back but not too low cut . Not only that it is comfortable, an added plus. Personally it is one of my favorite dresses now.  Wrap style dress Wrap style dress

 The Basic LBD I have been looking for a simple basic black dress, something comfortable but also cool.  A fabric that will breath , especially in the heat we are getting this summer.  I know black not the best color but I plan to wear it under a blazer or sweater come fall .  I do habe a couple black dresses but in polyester blends.  Not cool to wear now.  The Simple LBD Plus these sandals  Never can go wrong with a LBD . 

Summer Parties It’s going to be so nice to get out more places .Going out to weddings, parties or just for dining .  This outfit is ideal for any event . A linen blend blazer  and a gorgeous dress worn under it. The dress is a lovely faux wrap style in a vibrant blue shade. The fit is perfect, plus it has some stretch too.  Though I find the texture of the fabric is scratchy feeling  a half slip under solves that problem. Add some simple accessories  . I adore bracelets of all kinds from a lovely pearl one to a modern design . Wear a combination  for something different. So bring on the summer parties 🎉  Items images  hm , and other stories

  DENIM APPEAL  I have to admit  i don't wear jeans  i found them to be so uncutfortable, stiff and to hot to wear in the summer.  But a nice denim dress is another matter .  A loose fitting shirt style denim dress is another option.  It has that casual feel look and wears well.. I had a few denim shirt style dresses with long sleeves, but I found them to hot to wear in the summer.  Luckily I found a nice light weight sleeveless  Denim dress to wear.  I like the casual style with a nice flat sandal, wicker bag and of course sunglasses.                                                

 SPRING AHEAD  Okay our clocks were set ahead  on the weekend and on Monday I was totally exhausted that hour earlier did it. Hope you handled the time change better.   On the bright side it is SPRING and the weather has been very hot here.   Which makes me feel like I need a new spring outfit. Had my eyes on a nice midi dress , plus my birthday is coming up in April . so a gift idea  was also something I wouldn't mind. Hinting . SPRING STYLING The dress is lovely wrap style with a flounce bottom  in a vibrant colour just right for the spring  summer season a nice dress for holidaying, dinners out or whatever.   THE EXTRA I love jewelry and something simple that can be worn daily without any problems is what I prefer  I found a great necklace in 14k gold, the reason i like it I have the exact same bracelet to match. Think its nice to have a set.  Plus the price was reasonable. 

 SIMPLE STYLES with SCARFS Scarfs  are having a style moment , and I for one do like the look. Something so simple as a scarf can be worn in many ways. When you think about wearing a scarf, one usually thinks of wearing it tied around the neck or  worn over the head.  But this season scarfs are being worn in many other ways.  Worn as a top, like a strapless top  or tied around the neck like a halter top.  Also you can simple wrap it around your waist like a  skirt.  Its  simple easy way to use a scarf. The beauty of scarfs there are so many beautiful designs  to find and it would be a one of kind look.  GET CREATIVE A larger scarf works best to use as wrap skirt so that it fully wraps around your body.  Another way to wear a scarf  is to tie 2 together at shoulders , let it hang down and wrap a belt around waist to make a simple dress or longer top,  making sure to overlap the two scarfs on the sides. ALL SET TO PLAY Its tennis season, I am a big fan of tennis!  Are you a fan?   I usually never miss the games  especially the Wimbledon and French matches.     So when I saw the cute tennis outfit  I was delighted.  I like the look of  the smart skirt  and tops  The colours of soft pastels or basic navy and white.  A nice look to hit the  tennis courts...... even  for an  amateur .   DRESSY or CASUAL I think many of us are now about ready to change out of the lounge wear mode and get into some sort of normal clothing. As much as i like the comfort of lounge wear , sometimes I need a change.  I like to wear a casual style dress and a simple shirtdress  is ideal for anytime. Be it spring summer or fall. SHOP MY CLOSET Pinstripes or Stripes This is one style of dress I like . It looks fine to wear to work, casual enough and also stylish enough to dress up more.  You can wear it under a nice blazer or sweater.  wear a sweat top over or keep it simple.   MY PICKS FOR SPRING     Yes spring has arrived and we have some amazing warm temperatures the last week and this week.  I am ready to lose the loungewear and find some nice dresses to give me a lift. THE CLASSIC TRENCH COAT The Trench coat, a almost iconic coat that has been worn by so many from actors in films to everyday people. Think of Bogie in Casablanca, or Deneuve .  Its a love affair and one can understand why.  1960s film umbrellas of Cherbourg latest look of Catherine Deneuve on magazine cover modelling St Laurent If you think about it the trench coat is a very versatile coat, wearing it with slacks, jeans or even a pair of jogging pants to   dresses. I have one that is vintage with a wool liner, the shade is not the best on me.  So finding a newer one was a option. I found a  nice one in a nice caramel shade, not to light or dark.  It is the classic double breasted with the belt , but without the shoulder epaulets which I like, a more streamline look.
