LE CHIC MODE

  Time for some color  Finally the weather is warmer and can wear lighter clothes. I especially like to start the summer/spring with some color .  One of my favorites is a colorful knit on I bought years ago , a Liz Clairborn design.  It’s a piece that just say spring is here. After a long  , cold winter of wearing mostly dark or muted shades it’s nice to bring out something bright a cheery. 

  DENIM APPEAL  I have to admit  i don't wear jeans  i found them to be so uncutfortable, stiff and to hot to wear in the summer.  But a nice denim dress is another matter .  A loose fitting shirt style denim dress is another option.  It has that casual feel look and wears well.. I had a few denim shirt style dresses with long sleeves, but I found them to hot to wear in the summer.  Luckily I found a nice light weight sleeveless  Denim dress to wear.  I like the casual style with a nice flat sandal, wicker bag and of course sunglasses.                                                

 SPRING AHEAD  Okay our clocks were set ahead  on the weekend and on Monday I was totally exhausted that hour earlier did it. Hope you handled the time change better.   On the bright side it is SPRING and the weather has been very hot here.   Which makes me feel like I need a new spring outfit. Had my eyes on a nice midi dress , plus my birthday is coming up in April . so a gift idea  was also something I wouldn't mind. Hinting . SPRING STYLING The dress is lovely wrap style with a flounce bottom  in a vibrant colour just right for the spring  summer season a nice dress for holidaying, dinners out or whatever.   THE EXTRA I love jewelry and something simple that can be worn daily without any problems is what I prefer  I found a great necklace in 14k gold, the reason i like it I have the exact same bracelet to match. Think its nice to have a set.  Plus the price was reasonable. 

 THE SUMMER OF THE UNKNOWN A hello to everyone.  The summer as simply flown by so quickly.  Well we had no chance to take a trip , the plan was to start on some projects around the place. Our first BIG project was to get a a small pool built .  Well needless to say we hit a big snag!  Also the fact I still needed to get the second vaccine, so was no way I was heading out anywhere till that was done. The GREAT Pool project Yes it was all planned to be done this summer in time for a splash party. Needless to say  it came to a grinding halt when the digger hit a old , old tree stump that was buried under the grass . So part of the grass was dug out and part left, It was quite a mess. So plan B is  to make it smaller, go with the original idea. or setup in different spot.  Options are limited , so will have to see what happens.  Such is life.  ARE YOU READY..... This week was the start of the Eurovision Song contest ... a truly amazing event held every year  since the late 50s. It captured the continent at a time of a change in media and TV , and has been probably one of the best things : It showcases singers from most of the European countries. Some went on to big music stars later,  such as Celine Dion she sang for Belgium (though Canadian) , other big names of course were ABBA.  Then there was the metal band from Finland .  So the song contest is really an exciting thing to watch.  This week the semi finals were held, on  Saturday the finals.  Who will win is  a huge surprise.  I watched some of it, and my favourites didn't make it , but there will be more to watch.  MORE TO SEE I am getting excited to see the FRIENDS new show. AUGUST , THINK SUMMER IS OVER?  Guess again! Nearly the middle of August and still it is extremely hot. I think its been unusually hot in most parts of Europe and North america too.  And if it keeps up then perhaps its a good idea to get a few new swimsuits. I have had the same sets for years and even one that I would call ancient.  I prefer one piece suits for the comfort and ease. Not having to worry about something slipping up . HALTER , OFF SHOULDER, ONE SHOULDER, CUT-OUTS........ ?? The choices are really endless,   solids and prints , florals , tropical  prints have been popular , cutouts work well if you like to show a bit more skin , buckles and belted are always chic looking. Black and white the classic, timeless swimsuit. So here a a few that might work for now or later.   WHAT S YOUR FAVOURITE?         images hm

A SPLASH of COLOUR  This one dress was really a surprise. The fit is perfect, the length ideal, but what I really love about this dress is the flared bottom.  It drapes lovely and has a bit of swing to it when you walk.   I must say I fell in love with it, for the summer it  is ideal.  The other thing the price was unbelievable, that is why I am even more surprised with it.  Its a simple  A line cut with the added flare bottom  just makes it extra fun to wear.  How I wish  it came in more colors, I would have been happy to have more! Definitely my kind of style. I styled it with the bright pink cotton cardigan and a favourite small bag which can be shortened or lengthen, worn as a crossover or carried over the arm.  Pink is the  colour on trend , you will see this colour in  shoes and accessories. Well June came and went , and July arrived with  temperatures above normal. ITs a HEATWAVE. So where , what to do and more importantly what to wear? I find i don't really feel like wearing anything to tight  prefer loose fitting  , comfortable, cool and light materials. Something light airy and a bit different  Now that some borders to other countries opened up  the idea of a trip is possible. LOOKING FORWARD it may be to early to think about summer swimwear, but we can expect warm summer days sometime soon. So I am dreaming of lounging outside on the lounge chair with glass of lemonade, the palm plants swaying and of course some music, some calypso or caribbean sounds.....  Something to look forward to right?
