 Oscars night is around the corner. One of the biggest nights for the movie industry, but also a great time to see what the stars are wearing.  There have been some unforgettable, memorable designs . Some showstoppers !  One I always will remember isotherm Swan dress worn by Bjork, the Icelandic songwriter.  Of course there are many others. WHEN & HOW? We have all read I am sure in the magazines and blogs how much the French are admired for their chicness and style.  I have often wondered what is it about the French style or fashions that the world is so enamoured by it. After reading a interesting article about the rise of the French fashion , it is easy to understand why. We have to start to look back hundreds of years to the time of King Louis or Marie Antoinette (who was a Austrian) before the French Revolution.  This was the era when beautiful craftsmenship, stunning and rich materials and intricate design was highly important in the royal courts of Europe. France or Versailles became the centre of great fashion at that time. But when the French revolution happened , the flamboyant lifestyle of the rich was no longer part of life . FASHION WEEK  from Vienna - designer Edith Agay Well this week was the start of fashion week in Vienna and I am looking forward to see what some of the designers are showing and presenting.  Will be interesting though I find some of the designs , so so.  The last few years the designs were a bit quirky.  But wait and see what this year has in store. There are several designers I am not familiar with. One designer is Edith AGAY. She studied with Helmut Lang, Marc Bohan (dior) and others. She has shown international- Her designs are  structural i.e. architectural looking  I would say some were almost futurist like design for a outer space film. Her designs were presented at the MQ this week and included   silver and gold lame, sheer dresses in black and  a few flowy pieces  that I found lovely. images  thomas lech

FROM VIENNA with LOVE There are so many fashion weeks from NY, Milan or London  the big ones that all influencers/famous bloggers and celebrities attend - but there are many other  fashion shows worth seeing in other cities of Europe  such as Copenhagen, Stockholm and Vienna. Each has some wonderful designers featured. ThE VFW 10th anniversary was held this week and there were over 40 designers featured, from fashion, jewelry, accessories(purses) and much more. TO SKINNY OR TO FAT It has finally happened,  2 major big fashion houses DIOR and Gucci have decided that the models they have on the runways will have to be a certain size. No more super skinny  and hurray to that. Time that it happened and shows that woman need to be healthy and not overly thin.  Of course the fashion houses , fashion designers want to show the  clothes so they appeal to women consumers. But most  woman are not size 0 , or model size. Don't get me wrong I love fashions and  all the beautiful clothes.  But fit and healthy is important for young girls growing up . Its something when i was younger never thought about, being super thin . I suppose I was more a tomboy or sport lover. So worrying about my size never really mattered.  Of course now as older, its even more important but sadly much harder. ALL THE MAJOR DESIGNER LABELS  ARE TO BE FOUND , BUT WHAT A SURPRISE TO SEE ONE VERY STUNNING CHILDRENS FASHION STORE .   BAMBINI FASHION IS A 'EYEMAZING' STORE . THE INTERIORS WERE WHAT I FOUND  ABSOLUTE BREATHTAKING . TO IMAGINE SUCH A PLACE WITH DESIGNER FASHIONS FOR KIDS.    I WISH I WAS A KID AGAIN. IMAGES;pinterest
