  SUMMER NIGHT at the PALACE The Schoenbrunn Schloss is the former summer palace of the Emperor  , it was rebuilt in the 1800s  There are the magnificent gardens, Neptune and Obelisk fountains, the Palm House conservatory and the famous zoo. A SUMMERNIGHT DREAM...... All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine a magnificent garden with flowers laid out in patterns of musical notes, shiny coloured lights lighting up the night sky ,  a magnificent palace in the background  and the sound of an orchestra.  Yes , that is the highlight of the start of the summer concert se ason. The marvellous S ummernight Concert that is performed very summer at the Schoenbrunn palace is one of the major attractions for us and the many tourists that visit this beautiful city. A GREAT WAY TO START SUMMER! This year it was a Gershwin review and the star performer was the  pianist  Yuja Wang. NOT DEAD YET..... life is good! This is one statement I have to agree with and what really  made it special it was the Phil Collins concert held here last weekend.  The start of his first European concert held here. We went to see him perform and I will say it was amazing to  hear the songs live.   After all he is a world famous musician , composer, grammy winner and oscar winner (and recently a doctorate was presented to him in Austria). The only thing that stunned me was to see him in a wheelchair... but what does it matter. After all he is getting older, but he is not dead yet as the tour is called. The man is amazing and really if you like the genesis and their tunes-   then you have to see the concert. The opening performance was Mike & the Mechanics. also very good.  SUMMER NIGHTS AT A PALACE This holiday weekend was spectacular to say the least. From summer night concerts to movie stars the city was filled with major events. The most well known is the Sommernacht Symphony concert held  on the grounds of the Schloss Schonnbrunn. The Schloss is the former palace of the royals which is now used for special events and exhibitions.  So to have a chance to see a concert being performed live at such a magnificent place is a summer dream.  The magnificent Schloss with all its grandeur is  the absolute best place to have a summer night concert. With so many world class performers, opera singers to pianists it is the symphonies  gift to the city.  Wandering around the beautiful landscaped grounds  or seeing the stunning sculptures and fountains is so, so worth it.   The Schloss is highlighted with  streams of lights that change colours throughout the evening.  What can I say, its a drea...

EIN SOMMERNACHT TRAUM  MY HEART SKIPS A BEAT WHEN THE BIGGEST EVENT OF THE SUMMER STARTS.. THE SUMMER CONCERT AT THE FAMOUS SCHONBRUNN  . NOTHING IS MORE MAGICAL OR EXCITING TO HEAR GREAT MUSIC PERFORMED UNDER THE NIGHT SKY. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT AND THE CROWDS AMAZING. PEOPLE WITH THEIR BLANKETS , WINES GLASSES.  AN INFORMAL PICNIC SET UP TO ENJOY THE NIGHT. THE ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING AND TO HEAR SUCH A FAMOUS SYMPHONY PERFORM IS A DEFINITE HIGHLIGHT FOR ANYONE. FOR THOSE  NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE SCHONNBRUNN  WELL IT IS THE FORMER EMPERORS PALACE  SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL  LANDSCAPED GROUNDS, GLORIOUS FOUNTAINS ,THE GLORIETTE AND THE WORLD FAMOUS ZOO. A VIEW OF THE GLORIETTE   AND THE CONCERT STAGE. THE GRAND FINALE WITH FIREWORKS AND  LIGHT SHOW .  A VERY GRAND ENDING FOR A WONDERFUL SUMMER NIGHT. A DEFINITE MUST SEE !!! EVEN IF NOT FOR THE CONCERT.
