LE CHIC MODE

 SPRING AHEAD  Okay our clocks were set ahead  on the weekend and on Monday I was totally exhausted that hour earlier did it. Hope you handled the time change better.   On the bright side it is SPRING and the weather has been very hot here.   Which makes me feel like I need a new spring outfit. Had my eyes on a nice midi dress , plus my birthday is coming up in April . so a gift idea  was also something I wouldn't mind. Hinting . SPRING STYLING The dress is lovely wrap style with a flounce bottom  in a vibrant colour just right for the spring  summer season a nice dress for holidaying, dinners out or whatever.   THE EXTRA I love jewelry and something simple that can be worn daily without any problems is what I prefer  I found a great necklace in 14k gold, the reason i like it I have the exact same bracelet to match. Think its nice to have a set.  Plus the price was reasonable. 

 WHEN IN DOUBT , WEAR PEARLS There is something about pearls that reminds me of weddings. I am sure your mother or grandmother had a pearls in their jewelry boxes. My mother had a lovely cultured necklace plus some other pieces, a pearl ring, earrings etc.  Something she would wear on special occasions or in general. Mostly the ring and earrings. I do like pearls, but really don't wear  any, other then a pair of earrings.  It seems lately that pearls are making a comeback in fashion. I recall one stunning look-  the little black dress with draping pearls  worn by  Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's There is also  another famous pearl that was once worn by the royals of Europe and later worn by Elizabeth Taylor-  This famous pearl is called Le Paregrina its famous for is tear drop shape and was recently sold at auction for $11milliom.  A pretty pricey piece of jewelry but a gorgeous piece.  Elizabeth Taylor-  famous pearl ...

A BIT OF BLING  Hi Everyone,  Now that the month of January flew by  its another extended lockdown here, Better to keep safe then sorry. There were new rules, one of them is that everyone MUST wear  proper facemarks, medical versions, NO HANDMADE . So of course we immediately got them , they were available at all the grocery stores.  A much better idea to wear a PROPER mask! So moving on to something more fun to wear,,,, JEWELRY.  One of my favourite things. This year the looks seem to be for more chunky looks, which I don't mind really.  I like to have different pieces to wear to change a look of an outfit. LET IT SPARKLE AND SHINE In the last post about dressing up for holidays it is something I like, love to do. DRESS UP for special occasions. Of course this year will be completely different, as we have less contact with others and the lockdowns. But I don't see any reason why we can't wear the dressy things or even bring out the other things like crystal glasses , silver candlesticks...... There is something so magical about the holidays and it is the one holiday that we can really light up our homes, celebrate the time and wear our best outfits. After all its not everyday we dress up, so why not? My picks for a SPARKLY LOOK something special for the hair these lovely headbands are so perfect for anytime, A great belt will dress up any outfit, Wear it with a simple pair of slacks , over a top or with the LBD, satin slip dress . THE DESIGNER & TIFFANY When I think of Tiffany the first thing that comes to mind is the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. The movie was so popular and famous with the lovely Audrey Hepburn playing a young woman living in New York city.  And the funny scene with her shopping in the Tiffany store was the best! But besides the movie , Tiffany is famous for many things like jewelry and the lamps. There is also the well known jewelry designer Elsa Peretti who designed several unique pieces for Tiffany's. Her designs are a modern , fluid look . One of her famous pieces is the Gold Cuff, designed in the 70s and still popular. It is really a timeless piece. WEAR IT NOW I am sure many of us have a wide selection of jewelry in our jewelry boxes. Whether its earrings, rings or necklaces. I admit I have my favourites that I wear more often, but then there are pieces  I love too, but don't wear them enough.  Especially now when we are not out as much due to the lockdowns etc.   We probably don't bother to wear much jewelry when we are at home.  Its nice to wear those pieces and really a shame that we let them sit there without wearing them enough times.   If you don't wear it now, then when? Better to enjoy your things now , then never. Rings are one of my favourites and I wear it all time. I like pieces with a modern design , then there are times I like a bit of sparkle. TOUGH DECISION- be bolder As the summer season is unwinding and fall is just around the corner, styles are changing.  From shoes to jewelry there are some new looks to try for fall.  One of the changes is in jewelry.  The small delicate pieces that have been so popular are being replaced by more chunky pieces. If you are like me, I do like the  delicate items also,  worn with the summery dresses or tops but having to wear  several at a time - well it can be a lot to put on.  So one chunkier piece is all one needs to  make a change.   I happen to like both , but a change sometimes is nice. THE BIG NIGHT ! I have always loved to watch the Oscar awards, but living overseas it is a bit late to catch it, plus it does not show the Red carpet with the fashions. What I want to see mostly- of course the awards are wonderful also. This year though the  stage for the Oscars was decorated with  Swarovski crystals, an Austrian company that has made crystal famous. Most people know the brand. Just how many crystal did it take? I read it was 45 million. That is a unimaginable number  but what a sight and display. To see such sparkle and glitz would have been breathless. Even here the main store in the center of the city always has the most amazing windows displays. One can not resist to go inside and look around.  But for anyone who loves sparkle   there is always a nice piece of jewelry one can find those sparkle bracelets or earrings. What ever you want
