LIFE LATELY - Time to Travel// Lifestyle

TRAVELLING AGAIN? Last weekend was a long weekend , so what to do? Well the weather was not so great, No plans for enjoying the outdoors.  Watched  some classic films with Audrey,  the Breakfast at Tiffany's, then her major film role the Roman Holiday film. First time I have seen it, so was amazing to see a young Audrey. She was only 24 years old  when she made it and she won the Oscars best actress award.   Which brings me to the  idea of Travel.  Rome , Venice or  Paris?   Lately its been reported the people are booking trips or taking trips to the sunny, warm places like Italy, Spain and Greece , now that many have been vaccinated. I prefer to wait till later before we travel anywhere.  Will be nice to just take some time and enjoy the city again,  For now  a staycation is a good idea. NATURE in CITY Well talking about the city, I came across an interest webpage with a live cam of nesting Falcons.  There is something so amazing to see nature up close in their natural environmen

SPECIAL PEARLS // fashion, jewelry , culture

WHEN IN DOUBT , WEAR PEARLS There is something about pearls that reminds me of weddings. I am sure your mother or grandmother had a pearls in their jewelry boxes. My mother had a lovely cultured necklace plus some other pieces, a pearl ring, earrings etc.  Something she would wear on special occasions or in general. Mostly the ring and earrings. I do like pearls, but really don't wear  any, other then a pair of earrings.  It seems lately that pearls are making a comeback in fashion. I recall one stunning look-  the little black dress with draping pearls  worn by  Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's There is also  another famous pearl that was once worn by the royals of Europe and later worn by Elizabeth Taylor-  This famous pearl is called Le Paregrina its famous for is tear drop shape and was recently sold at auction for $11milliom.  A pretty pricey piece of jewelry but a gorgeous piece.  Elizabeth Taylor-  famous pearl is called Le Paregrina .

LIFE LATELY Music time// Lifestyle, Euro,

ARE YOU READY..... This week was the start of the Eurovision Song contest ... a truly amazing event held every year  since the late 50s. It captured the continent at a time of a change in media and TV , and has been probably one of the best things : It showcases singers from most of the European countries. Some went on to big music stars later,  such as Celine Dion she sang for Belgium (though Canadian) , other big names of course were ABBA.  Then there was the metal band from Finland .  So the song contest is really an exciting thing to watch.  This week the semi finals were held, on  Saturday the finals.  Who will win is  a huge surprise.  I watched some of it, and my favourites didn't make it , but there will be more to watch.  MORE TO SEE I am getting excited to see the FRIENDS new show. Another thing to watch. A chance to see the group together again. I use to like to watch it and their relationships together, and not to forget Phoebes  song - Smelly Cat.  Hopefully it will b

NAUGHTY (knots) HAIR// Beauty

A HAIR DILEMMA Since the start of the pandemic, and all the lockdowns and restrictions, there was one thing  we haven't been able to do. GET A HAIRCUT:  (was possible, but i felt not safe to go) At the start it was about shoulder length, now its above the waist.    So after such a looong time the hair became  longer and longer.  At first it was fine, but the longer it got  the harder it became to keep it from tangling . Anyone else have this problem?? This week I tackled the knots and matted area at the base of the neck.  WHAT A PAIN! After the major comb out it was time to wash it .  The PROCESS  STEP 1  use a shampoo with conditioner  a 3 in 1 shampoo   STEP 2 Repair and care conditioner  without paraffin  I had to apply extra to the matted, knotted parts and let sit 30 minutes at least.  then rinsed out with tepid cool water.  STEP 3 once completely rinsed out , time to work on the knots and matted part. Let hair dry , then using a wide  tooth comb  and  slowly working on sect

RUNWAY TIME with 'CHANEL // fashion

THE RUNWAY RESORT edition This week was the Chanel show and  fashion runways have had to adjust to situation of having a virtual fashion shows. I wanted to see it for the location that was supposed to be in France.  It was for sure a unusual and interesting location at some rock quarry  that was  the backdrop for the models.  A very minimal cold atmosphere , not what one expects like the past shows.   But other then the setting the outfits were a bit of a mix of  the classic tweed blazer that Chanel is famous for  to punk styles , fishnet stockings  and capes.  So here are a few pieces from the show:  What  are the looks that inspire you?    I have a few favourites that I like .
