A HAIR DILEMMA
Since the start of the pandemic, and all the lockdowns and restrictions, there was one thing
we haven't been able to do. GET A HAIRCUT: (was possible, but i felt not safe to go)
At the start it was about shoulder length, now its above the waist.
So after such a looong time the hair became longer and longer. At first it was fine, but the longer it got the harder it became to keep it from tangling . Anyone else have this problem??
This week I tackled the knots and matted area at the base of the neck. WHAT A PAIN!
After the major comb out it was time to wash it .
The PROCESS
STEP 1
use a shampoo with conditioner
a 3 in 1 shampoo
STEP 2
Repair and care conditioner without paraffin
I had to apply extra to the matted, knotted parts and let sit
30 minutes at least.
then rinsed out with tepid cool water.
STEP 3
once completely rinsed out , time to work on the knots and matted part. Let hair dry , then using
a wide tooth comb and slowly working on sections to remove the knots.
This is the longest process and take times.
The matted section , taking the comb try loosening it by sticking the comb into the mat , then with fingers gently wiggle the hair, pulling gently to loosen the matted piece. Repeat till the mat is completely removed. If no luck the only other option is snip, snip.
TIP
Key to keeping knots or tangles out is using a conditioner on your hair.
Something i had not done. The conditioner smoothes the surface of the hair strands , so hairs slide and
don't get hooked causing the tangles then knots.
Product used Pantene ProV which i have used in the past. works well for
my hair type. I have used professional hair products also. So whatever product you like
should work.
But now it is time for hair cut!!
No more KNOTS for me!
I like the look of this simple pony tail
, but there are so many ways to style longer hair.
From the low bun to a top knot.
I wear mine mainly tied to the side or clipped back.
How do you wear your hair, long or short?
