HOLIDAY DECOR&& MORE / LIFESTYLE, Decor holiday

READY SET GO... TIME TO DECORATE I am sure many of you are Christmas addicts, love to light the candles, hang the stockings, setup the tree fill the place with Christmas decorations.  I am one who loves to get the things up a little early, so I can sit and enjoy it in the evenings . The lights all aglow, the sparkle of the shiny ornaments that are so dazzling.  Nothing is more special and memorable as that. I can remember as a kid the excitement of going to get a tree at the tree lots. Later we had a large artificial one, a real pain to set up. My mom bought it , but never could manage to put it together- it was the sort with the coloured tips that you had to place into the corresponding hole.. grr  such a pain. When I moved from home i got one that you simply open up like an umbrella, such a breeze simple and easy. But one winter we did head out to the woods to cut our own tree, for my son. He was so proud when he dragged it out. His own little tree. Yes such happy memories! And now

the vintage world// fashion, vintage

Vintage or Second hand  Phenomenon Are you into vintage fashion? As I  was looking at the fashion magazines there is always something that  reminds me of the past. Whether it is a hairstyle, jewelry or fashions. What was the IT item comes back in vogue. Designer handbags being one, Pradas nylon shoulder bag, or Fendi Baguette bag or the Jackie bag.  That is for designer pieces , but also  fashion is repeating itself, the fringe is again on the runway.   Even one famous model wore a vintage item, a 1950s designer dress. When the Oscars was held Julia Roberts wore a Vintage Valentino gown. Of course this is not something we can all do or afford , designer pieces. But to keep an eye out for good quality pieces, well made and stylish is what to look for. Natural materials are also a good choose. The vintage or second market is booming with so many different platforms, Thredup, Depop, or REALREAL . Even in your area you probably will find many vintage shops. HERMES VINTAGE MADEM MILAN The

this and that// lifestyle, DIYs

THIS AND THAT  FLOWERS FOR FRIDAYS  a lovely rose plant will always cheer me or anyone up     these soft pink roses so delicate  , that and a interesting book, scented candles   make me happy   during this lockdown. SIMPLE DIY   a Lovely room diffuser. Now that we are in the 2nd full lockdown ,seeing how we will be stuck inside for awhile thought  it is nice to have  a room diffuser .   I decided to make one after reading a how to . So simple and easy .  Now i am  collecting bottles suitable to make more.  Finding the right type of bottle with a narrow opening ,  some bamboo sticks, essential oils , water and a carrier oil.    It suggested one can use vodka  as a carrier, the alcohol helps to dissipate the oil. Surprisingly it worked.  CARRY ON BAKING Yes that seems to have become a new hobby, baking.  Something different then a banana loaf.  Two of my favourite thengs , chocolate and strawberries.    So voila, a cake for a weekend treat. A Delicious Black Forest cake.

COMFORTS FOR HOME// decor

4 THINGS to MAKE YOUR ROOM COZY Time for some HYGEE   now that we are spending more and more time at home, and perhaps its time to refresh your space.  Sometimes all one needs are a few simple small tweaks.  Here are a few ideas to give your home the hygge feel.  PILLOWS GALORE  a place to sit and rest your head on a comfy pillow is top on the list. Nothing is more lovely then some beautiful and plush cushions or pillows to make you feel like a queen (or king) Some lovely cushions to try,  love the   make a wish come true        CANDLES  not only for birthdays There is nothing more soothing then a room filled with candlelight. Candles can make any space feel extra cozy, a fireplace filled with lite candles, a bathtub surrounded with tea lights or even ice candles for outside look stunning. SOMETHING FUZZY something soft and fuzzy to set your feet on is another great choice for a room, whether on a chair , bed, or floor, it is something to really love.  Faux sheepskin rugs are easy to

RETAIL THERAPY// fashion, shopping

FINDING a PERFECT COAT for Winter Time for a bit of  retail therapy,  and now that the weather is starting to get more chilly, my one wish is to find a nice warm coat or jacket to bundle up in.   Even though we are into the second lockdown, things are starting to look better . The news of a vaccine has made me feel huge relief or a heavy weight lifted  I figure  now is good time to get a nice coat. COAT & JACKETS From a casual style or a more dressier one, a nice coat is crucial for winter. One that keeps one warm and cozy against the winds or snow.  DRESSY CLASSIC STYLES. A short version or the knee length style both are suitable,  wearing with slacks or dresses. Love some colour, for the winter, the camel and burgundy shades are perfect additions. This one with a fur collar is ideal to keep the neck warm , the added details of the hook and buttons finish it off nicely. The classic double breasted is unbeatable, the deep burgundy colour is gorgeous. CASUAL STYLING Always on the

NOVEMBER THOUGHTS // life, prayers

TIME TO REFLECT  I had planned to write a post earlier, to start November in a cheery mood with things to get for gifts for Christmas, some decor ideas and other things. But this week was the most terrible week we have had to experience. Monday night our phones were binging notifications of shooting in the city. A TERROR ATTACK.   The week has been a roller coaster filled with so many emotions, great sadness, tears, anger. To imagine a beautiful warm evening out in the centre, people enjoying the evening before the lockdown and then running for their lives. The fear I can only imagine.  Something so unimaginable in this beautiful city. I could not believe it at firs t.  We read about these events happening in so many cities, not only Europe but around the world. It was dreadful, to hear the news and see how the city centre was filled with endless police and ambulances.  It makes me oh so sad to imagine what the families, friends are going through after such a thing.  We can only pray f

HERE WE GO AGAIN// lifestyle, @home, organizing

The Weekend of Scarey things and Surprises Halloween was very quiet but that is usually the case here, as it really is not such a BiG thing . The much more celebrated event is Carnival  with the costumes and kids also take part in. But i still enjoyed it, watching some scary movies , reading and relaxing. Well I like to set up some fall decorations , this year felt much different. The kids had the week off and after this weekend , austria is again going into the second lockdown. SURPRISE  So what to think? Each day the numbers of cases increased, and I can say I think it is importantt to make sure everyone follows those recommendations. Yet here we are again in lockdown.  Sadly it is the same situation around the world.  The only answer really is to avoid contact with people till there is a vaccine,  keeping distance is one thing, but the MASKS are very important , and regular disinfection.  Without those steps  we will be forever going in circles and be in lockdowns over and over.
