TIME TO REFLECT  I had planned to write a post earlier, to start November in a cheery mood with things to get for gifts for Christmas, some decor ideas and other things. But this week was the most terrible week we have had to experience. Monday night our phones were binging notifications of shooting in the city. A TERROR ATTACK.   The week has been a roller coaster filled with so many emotions, great sadness, tears, anger. To imagine a beautiful warm evening out in the centre, people enjoying the evening before the lockdown and then running for their lives. The fear I can only imagine.  Something so unimaginable in this beautiful city. I could not believe it at firs t.  We read about these events happening in so many cities, not only Europe but around the world. It was dreadful, to hear the news and see how the city centre was filled with endless police and ambulances.  It makes me oh so sad to imagine what the families, friends are going through after such a th...

The month is zooming by so quickly and already the push to get things for Christmas has started. As much as I love the season, I find the onslaught of ads and sales can be to overwhelming For me this time of year is when I think more of decorating or making some small changes inside. Simple things that are not overly expensive but make me feel the space is comfortable . One way I find that make a big impact is art. Lately I have had a interest in posters. Trying to find the RIGHT poster for a space. What is nice about posters is the size, they can fill a wall nicely, usually they are colourful and very interesting. Posters were very popular as a way to advertise , promote a place or sport. Some of the great posters you might have seen are of the french theme, Warhol Marilyn Monroe, Campbell soup can or the Olympics and many others. VFW FASHION WEEK .- designer Anelia Peschov Fashion week is in full swing in the city and it is exciting to see some of the new designs  created by the designers.  The lovely fashions of  Anelia Peschov are a very feminine soft look.  Bows and ruffles, long dresses are the main feature , as well as some gorgeous satin gowns.  Romantic  looks  are never out of style. images  thomas lech

VFW AT THE MQ The month of September is full of exciting things to check out and one of them is the VFW fashion week. Held each year  at the MQ it is the event many Austrian celebs, bloggers, and even a few political sorts attend.  But what is more interesting are the fashions and also  the area where it is held. Located in the city centre it is a hub for many people to go sit lounge, eat and basically relax. The reflection pool is always a great place to sit  on the hot summer days. It also is an area that is filled with other museums such as the Leopold museum and other interesting exhibitions and performances. So it is really a easy way to see a lot of things in one spot.  So let me show you the MQ The colourful benches to sit and stretch out on, an ideal spot to people watch. MAGICAL HOLIDAY LIGHTS 🎆🎄🎄🎄🎆 A stroll to the Christmas market at the magnificent City hall is always top on the list. Here you can find most anything,  Artisans and yummy treats. The classic heart shaped cookies, the delicious  Weihnacht punch and much, much more.....  Later you can go skating under all the decorated  trees. A MAGICAL EVENING!  SUMMER NIGHTS AT A PALACE This holiday weekend was spectacular to say the least. From summer night concerts to movie stars the city was filled with major events. The most well known is the Sommernacht Symphony concert held  on the grounds of the Schloss Schonnbrunn. The Schloss is the former palace of the royals which is now used for special events and exhibitions.  So to have a chance to see a concert being performed live at such a magnificent place is a summer dream.  The magnificent Schloss with all its grandeur is  the absolute best place to have a summer night concert. With so many world class performers, opera singers to pianists it is the symphonies  gift to the city.  Wandering around the beautiful landscaped grounds  or seeing the stunning sculptures and fountains is so, so worth it.   The Schloss is highlighted with  streams of lights that change colours throughout the evening.  What can I say, its a drea...

the viennese style Every where you walk in the city there are streets lite up  and cafes to sit and  enjoy the famous coffee shops in  the city , the Schwarzberg or  the famous Sachers . Christmas markets are filled with people, streets are lite with the most spectacular lights that stretch along the pedestrian walks  like huge chandeliers. This is one of the most popular places to be during the holidays.   But a definite must see in this beautiful city of Vienna. Oh but there is so so much more to see and do , its endless.  Here are just a few sights to see in the evening. I hope to share more of the sights in the city here, so stay posted.
