A SHOPPING DILEMMA
I can say my shopping habits have changed a bit since moving here, and also probably the fact
I don't see the need as much to shop every sale. Basically I got tired of running about looking
for the item on sale, and it not being available.
I of course like a sale like anyone. but the frustration can be to much, and I realized later I managed without the item
Of course we need to shop for things if they need replacing , shoes for one, or clothing
that doesn't fit or is well worn - then there is no option.
BACK TO BASICS
But truth is I look to get something that works well with what i already have in my closet
and can be worn in several different ways.
Mixing colours and prints, solids and textures. Suedes leathers, velvets, linens , tweeds, wools cottons are some of my favourite materials.
A simple leather skirt will last years, Velvet looks expensive and look wonderful for the festive season. Wools are always perfect worn with slacks, jeans or skirts.
I have a few items i bought in the past, that got worn once or twice, again it was a print and price was good, but it wasn't a good choice. Better I waited to get something more simple and not a print. some prints can be to bold and definitely noticeable. So lesson learnt.
But i also don't want to look boring, so something with colour is one thing
difference.
A navy outfit with a pink bag or scarf, colour combinations can change a look from
boring to WOW.
SHOPPING FIX
Now if I go shopping for something, I DONT take a credit card along. Carry only a certain amount of cash and if something I know works for me than okay It is so easy to go overboard and spend to much, easily done I know, .
I think for some it is a emotional high and a way to dream of what it be like to have that item.
Whether it is a expensive piece or not.
So how do you handle your shopping adventures? Keep checkers on it or go all out?
HERE is a interesting video on shopping , why we shop, and reasons we love it.
