FOR THE LOVE OF ANIMALS

Lately I have been reading and watched some amazing movies that  are animal related.  If you love animals too, then these movies or books might be of interest.  What drew me to the type of films is because the films depict REAL WOMEN who were unique , strong and amazing.

Like Karin Blixen whose life took her from Europe to Africa. Another is Diane Fossey   and her dedication to protect the gorillas and lastly the story of June Adamson and the lion Elsa.  There is something about all these women that I admired and thought what amazing lives they had. So brave and strong they were.

But I also was drawn to their stories because I love animals. As a kid growing up I would sometimes find small injured animals and bring them home. One was a small baby robin, or frog and salamanders. I always wanted to be a Veterinarian  or working with animals.

So of course a good movie with animals and humans  caring for them is something I like to watch.  Also I was hoping to get out to the zoo and see the new additions, but in the meanwhile I can enjoy it somewhat on the screen.

OUT OF AFRICA,  an Oscar winner with two outstanding actors, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.

Based on the book written by Karin Blixen . Its the story of a real woman who travelled and lived in Kenya. . The film is one of my favourites for the stunning scenery and views. To imagine seeing the wild animals in their natural habitat is truly amazing.

GORILLAS IN THE MIST

Another film worth to see and tells the life of one woman Diane Fossey, who studied the mountain gorillas and worked to protect them.  Its a drama with many ups and downs , but worth seeing

BORN FREE

This film I recall seeing as a kid , its one film that still makes me tear up when I see it. ITs touching , funny and a good film for the whole family.
Based on a true story about Elsa the lion and the woman who cared for her.

Pockets please!!/ fashion

Well as the title says…. Pocket s please!  This week has been a very painful week. I recently injured my knee badly. Not able to move stand or walk. When finally bit better I finally  managed to move . I needed something to wear that I could put my phone in , glasses medicine in. Any dress I thought I could use didn’t have pockets for anything.  Why???  When I think back there usually  were pocket inserts nicely sewn  on inside of slacks or dresses.  Now you rarely find that .  I guess it’s a cost saving , less material needed and no extra time used sewing a pockrr er r in.  Maybe it’s to give an outfit a more neat look, no bulging pockets.   Meanwhile mens wear there are always pockets.  Do you like outfit with pockets?
