LE CHIC MODE

  DRESSY or CASUAL I think many of us are now about ready to change out of the lounge wear mode and get into some sort of normal clothing. As much as i like the comfort of lounge wear , sometimes I need a change.  I like to wear a casual style dress and a simple shirtdress  is ideal for anytime. Be it spring summer or fall. SHOP MY CLOSET Pinstripes or Stripes This is one style of dress I like . It looks fine to wear to work, casual enough and also stylish enough to dress up more.  You can wear it under a nice blazer or sweater.  wear a sweat top over or keep it simple. This dress I bought a few years ago, so its not really new but still practical and not out of style.  Simple shirt dress  styling with accessories Tie a scarf around your neck, hair or keep handy by tying it  on a handbag. ALL IN THE LIPS Have you ever thought about some cosmetic treatments. I know there some people who start  and get hooked into doing more and more.  From  getting plump lips, to wrinkles removed , or complete facelifts.  Somehow I really can't understand the obsession. But after finding out that some instagram stars like Kylie Jenner had  lip plumping  , it is understandable that more nd more young woman are doing it also During lockdown it seems some are getting it done by people not qualified or trained to perform such  procedures. They see someone on instagram  who does the procedure and they then go ahead with it.  Why would anyone think someone on instagram is qualified to do this?  Why try it, the cost is maybe cheap but it is not worth the risks. What is worse they have major problems after such a procedure, infections, and need further work done to fix the damage to their lips I read this article about some young woman who have ex...

 EARTH DAY CELEBRATED It is  a wonderful way to give back something to the environment and earth. I am waiting to plant the flowers  but we did get something more for outside,  some berry bushes - blueberries and boysenberries .  Something we love are blueberries ,   a summer treat  so can't wait to  taste a juicy berry.  Dwarf Top 'Hat blueberries via amazon The other thing that needed tending was my compost project that i started a few months ago. So will be able to add the much needed compost to the pots.  Its amazing how well it worked with out any added cost. A BONUS.  Have you tried composting? PARTY Time to celebrate The last week was pretty busy as we celebrated family birthdays, (in lockdown again) so  nothing big planned.   HOLLYWOOD GLAM I am so excited to see the OSCARs award this weekend  though this year will be completely different . There won't be a red carpet or views of the stars walking in. A big disappointment when one can't see all the glamorous gowns from there. I must say I have always loved a beautiful dress or gown for special occasions the added glamour and sparkle just gives the everyday life a boost.  Especially now it seems even more important.  Reflected back to some of the outfits from past events , there were some very unusual and jaw dropping looks  to see.  OVER the TOP  Starting with the Icelandic singer Bjork, this dress was the talk of the fashion magazines and was definitely different .  A bit of drama  like  the swan lake ballet.   CELEBRATE PUNK DESIGNER JUST THIS month it was Vivienne Westwood's 80th birthday. The fashion designer who brought PUNK fashions to the forefront. Her designs were over the top , colourful, eccentric and I think abit wild.  She still is designing and even some of her designs were part of the Life ball held here in the past, she also designed the costumes for the ballet performance for New years.  Known for her flaming orange reddish hair , bold clothes - she is a woman of her times, the punk era of UK.  HERE WE GO AGAIN Hi everyone!!  hope you all had a relatively good Easter weekend there. We had chilly weather so any plans to sit out were cancelled. Just last night there was such strange weather, thunder and lightning, and SNOW.   Again we are in a full lockdown... like so many in Europe.    ODE to SPRING There is one thing I have always liked to do when spring arrives and Easter weekend is near. Spring starts with flowers for inside or outside, the blooming branches set up on display, followed by a  change of dinnerware. I love to bring out the spring look dishes and enjoy our day with something cheery.  Now is the time for some cheering up..(another full lockdown). Adding some colour is always a cheer-me-up.
