FEBRUARY DULL , NEVER.
February sometimes is a bit of dull month, with rain or snow and not much happening.
But for some fun there is FASCHING . What is that?, you ask.
Well it is Carnival time in some places. Something similar to carnival in Italy is held in Germany and Austria also. It is a chance to dress up in costumes and masks. Maybe a Masquerade party is more like it. People dress up in all sorts of costumes and revel the night . There are parties, performers, comedy acts and so on. Parades even are held at the famous Prater Amusement park.
From parades to food, the one treat that is popular this time of year is called Krapfen- a bit like a filled doughnut with a vanilla, fruit or a chocolate cream filling. A big favourite.
Well it is always a fun to beat the winter doldrums and just have a
fun time, whether you want to dress up or not.
