LE CHIC MODE

Well we are well into the fall season with the cooler temperatures and the latest fall fashions . These are some lovely pieces. The neutral tones are always a favorite from pant suits to dresses . Have to say, I love them he all!  TURTLENECKS COLOR POPS  These two dresses just brighten up any day. Love the ruffle details and color. SUIT STYLE  Two different looks . The grey black combo definitely suits the fall season, the floral detail os a nice added touch.  White in fall , why not .  Love the total look , clean lines . Simple , smart, classy. BROWN and BEIGE  The max Mara fashion is calling me.  I actually have a similar coat .  The suit is another favorite. Cropped blazers are in.   FASHION 

Tote time  Are you a tote fan? The one thing I do like when it comes to handbags is a good size tote.  The many uses, especially for everyday use is the size. I like to have one that can carry my daily things , phone , wallets , glasses , book , scarf or even extra shoes .   Especially for traveling they are a must- have.  Here are a few totes that fit the  bill.      

  Big Foot on the Runway Seems that some of big designers have started a new look in footwear.  I can only say , who’s idea was that? It is comical and reminds me of the circus. You can imagine it extra big shoes.  But to each his own.  One certainly can’t miss them.  The pink ones I don’t mind.  Are you a fan of chunky shoes?

 Lovely London 🇬🇧  This was an exciting week in London with fashion week and Vogue. The designers, models, movie stars and royals  appeared on the red carpet. Not to mention Vogue fashion editor .. As expected in fashion there are always some surprises to see. A no dress needed look. Some lovely gowns, the all white pant suit and some sparkle too, Grey suit with sequins . This I love.  When and where(wear)  Sequins have been around since ancient times. Early 1920s was the glam era , parties, dancing and sequins . Though a popular Look those sequins did not last,as they were of gelatin and would melt.   Now sequinsare massed produced and cheap.  I have a Love for sparkle and sequins . .so reading about the fashion was an eyeopener.  https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20230825-why-sequins-are-so-exhilarating-to-wear I hae s few pieces that I wear festive season, then one more casual one. A white  top with sequin stripes that can be worn anytime and in many different ways . Dressed up or down  with slacks, jeans , or a flowy skirt  endless ideas . I am so glad I bought it.  Really if you love something and can’t decide how to wear it , try it with different pieces , you might be surprised!  Summer style white cream  with silver accessories. 

  Dressed in Blue Beginning of spring I was looking for a nice dress to wear for going to dinners, summer parties or weddings. I loved the style, cut and color.  It’s a perfect dress to wear for just about anything. A simple wrap style with a tie on side. The hem is rounded , a nice detail. A v-neck front and back but not too low cut . Not only that it is comfortable, an added plus. Personally it is one of my favorite dresses now.  Wrap style dress Wrap style dress

 The Basic LBD I have been looking for a simple basic black dress, something comfortable but also cool.  A fabric that will breath , especially in the heat we are getting this summer.  I know black not the best color but I plan to wear it under a blazer or sweater come fall .  I do habe a couple black dresses but in polyester blends.  Not cool to wear now.  The Simple LBD Plus these sandals  Never can go wrong with a LBD . 

  Restyled or recycled  I have been going through my closet and came across a knit top that was given to me, but I have never worn it.  It a lovely summery print , sort of abstract floral design. I like the colors of pink , red, white. So I kept it just never wore it. It felt to tight  around the neck and chest.  So looking at it and thinking, I should turn it into a cardigan . Think it will be much more useful for me , as it can be worn in more ways. I was inspired by the article I shared about how in France they want people to repair their clothes before throwing them out .  So I cut it down the center , first stitching two seams down the front to prevent it unraveling . Then cut between the two seams. Then sewed a band of ribbon to finish the edge.. Voilaa new cardigan.  I plan to add pearls to give it some added detail or just an eye hook to keep it closed .  Have you tried to restyle any of your items?

 SUmmer Heatwave  This is the only thing to wear in the sweltering heat .  Keeping cool is the challenge. Stay in, or go to the beach . Truly hard to decide. Early mornings or late afternoons are the times to cool off in the water .  These are somethings I wear on justcsuch days A good size tote a must to carry neeeed things , sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, tissues… The important thing a nice scarf to use as wrap skirt . A cute sunhat and a basic swimsuit.  Added a bit of fun with some accessories  I Love brackets but avoid to wear my gold ones , so these I thought looked good. Modern style.     

The famous handbag  Today the lady whose name is famous for the bodkin,  Jane Birkin has died at age of 76. She became an icon of the French fashion, music and movies.  Most notably the song she performed with serge Gainsbourgh . She had an extraordinary life and had a certain easy style.
