ENJOYING the WEEKEND// lifestyle travel + tips

THE HEATWAVE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

We had another long weekend here. It is always nice to have a break and be able to take a few
small weekend trips or work on things around the home .... but  and this is one thing about the month of June over here- the temperatures.
Never would I have expected such HOT weather in Austria. I think more Arizona or Asia or Australia for hot places. Again the summer heatwave is hitting Europe. I never thought it be so bad, I can recall being out in 32 degree weather , but it was a drier heat . Over here it is sweltering and humid... a killer! The morning temperature of 28C  before 9 and humidity of 67% is NOT for me!!

We were thinking to taking the  river cruise to Bratislava  a short trip of 75 minutes for weekend, but  the heat was to much to handle.

So instead we watched the French open tennis final; what an exciting game.  The young Austrian player Dominic Thiem is one to watch. He is now top 4 in the world, not bad  to be part of the Nadal, Novak and Federer group.

So what does one do in such a heatwave to be comfortable.... find a cool place to sit.
Luckily I can scoot down to the basement  or sit upstairs with the AC running.

Keeping cool in this sort of heat is a challenge so what to do...

⛱🏊🏊✓✔ go swimming at one of the many pools indoors or outdoors

🍦🍨✔✔  head to the ice cream shops, the perfect hot weather treat

🍒🍓🍉🍉✔✔✔eating cool things, plenty of salads, slices of watermelon, frozen grapes are another healthy treat, anything simple and easy is my thing on hot days,** One great thing is a cold cucumber soup. Here is the Recipe

🍻🍺✔ drink plenty of fluids, avoid alcohol . My favourite is making a drink with crushed ice, light milk, yogurt and fresh fruits - blended in blender and serviced in a tall glass. A real TREAT and healthy. Another favourite is lemonade, with fresh squeezed lemons .

👙👙👓 ✔✔✔✔✔wear cooler lighter clothing, avoid dark shades and synthetics. stick with cottons , linens and looser fitting things.

✔✔✔✔ STAY indoors during the hottest part of the day. enjoy the early mornings or late evenings
when it is cooler out.

🛀🚿✔✔✔   take cool showers, or wet a towel and wrap around neck

🚿🚿✔✔ cool down outdoor surfaces i.e. concrete pavers with water, the area will be cooler
and more comfortable, if you are sitting there.

Hope wherever you are you are enjoying the summer and keeping cool too!

Keeping Warm - Fashion Style

POP of COLOR Yes it is something we all want need. Keeping warm in the cold winter months.  One of favorite knit top has been my steady Look. The fact it has a large cowl neck collar that I pull up over my face  when it’s windy outside.  It is comfortable and feels cozy . The color is vibrant on those dull dreary days .  A pop of color is nice to see during the winter  season when mostly black seems to be the color of choice.  The Accessories .  I love to add a few accessories also.  Bracelets add a little interest to the look .  The three sterling silver bangles worn over sleeve looks good  , as well as the multi twist bracelet.  Ps  The photo does not show the true color .  It’s a very vibrant blue shade . Looks dull .  After a few retakes no change.  Camera issues.

DRESS. It up//fashion style

DRess It Up A simple grey knit top  is something I had been looking for sometime. Grey is not usually my pick,  but I thought time to try some other neutral shade.  The top is tunic style and loose fitting . Definitely a comfort piece.  I decided to add some different accessories to it.  This shiny silver piece just a bit of interest to the plain top.  Accessories are really a great way to give an outfit a different look.      Love this multi strand necklace . It suits this knit top, not to delicate but fun and an interesting piece.
