WONDERING WHAT TO EAT
The month of January was the labelled Veganuary month. As the new year started people will have made some resolutions, to maybe make some changes in their lives from exercise to diets.
As the vegan diet is becoming so popular in places, especially for the millennials. Perhaps also
because of the climate change factor being in the news , and how we should cut down on eating meat
because the industry contributes alot to climate change. There are many reasons.
But I am not one to jump on the bandwagon that quickly, of course I realize there are things that we can do to help . So my main change has been to limit flying, and travel via train when possible.
and the many other things. ( like Recycling and Reusing items.)
VS
PLANT BASED DIETS
So back to the main topic of foods and veganism. Why the interest? Well I like to read articles on health, sciences and environment. Veganism is a bit of all of that really.
Veganism or vegetarian diets are considered a very healthy diet, but a recent study shows it lacks some of the important vitamins and nutrients that the body needs, B12 being one of them , plus several others- like iron, calcium and more. Of course there are supplements one can take.
BRAIN POWER
Another important thing to know is what we eat effects or helps our brains. The things we eat
can be very important in so many ways. As I read this article it only made sense to me. When ones reads about children in school who have not gotten proper nutrition how it effects their school work.
So of course a proper diet is important at any age.
The brain needs proper food in order to function properly, it uses 20% of our diet. The study notes
without proper nutrients there is stunted brain development and also damages the nervous system
over time.
Well there is a lot of information and I found it very interesting. And for anyone who is thinking about a change in their diet, the article is one way to learn more about proper nutrition and diets.
And what the bodies needs to be healthy.
