ORGANIZED or NOT
Something I have always liked is being organized, keeping things in place and knowing where to look for things, it was something I did even as a kid- ( doll clothes in a case, mini chests) .
So now that I am living here with my dearest I have really had to adjust to his habits (totally opposite) I am not a neat freak but i like to have things put away or back where they belong.
(ie scissors, tools etc)
When I read a article of how organized German people are and how they learn that from a young age.
The funny thing the article was written by an American living in Germany. She wrote about daily life
and the things one can do and not do. This made me laugh, because I can relate.
For starters when you take the train or metro people don't talk, sit there with headphones or iPads reading. So people are very quiet. The article mention how another passenger let her know talking was not allowed ruhezug quiet compartment train, . This comes from a saying in german, Ordnung muss sein.
Somethings that are part of life here, everything is recycled and sorted. Glass separated clear or coloured, metals, cartons, etc. Parking plaques for your street, quiet time by 10 . There is even a what I call a bylaw police. Though that is much like in America in bigger cities. So not really a surprise.
I say mostly it common sense. Though it is important here to always greet people in elevators, store clerks etc.
Yes things are orderly , on time and efficient which is a good thing.
Now to get the guy onboard with the ORDNUNG muss sein.
Here a few items that can help to keep your place organized - for your home, bathroom and bedroom.
The floral print containers I have and love them , as they fold down flat, when not in use. They are great for holding scarfs, gloves, or anything else. And they look nice also.
