THE WEEKEND FINALLY!

Fridays are for me Freedom day.... the work week is finally over and I can relax, kick off the heels, and enjoy a drink. Its been an unusually hot spring and the summer it seems will be the same. So naturally it nice to be home and sit outside , light the barbecue and enjoy dinner al fresco.

Its a thing about summertime that reminds me of summers spent in northern Europe, visiting family and spending the summers boating, eating fresh shrimps and mounds of delicious strawberries. A oh so relaxing time. Strolling over rocky coasts, or vast sand dunes that stretched on forever. The long summer nights .......

NORDIC THINGS ... HYGGE , LAX , IKEA

The Scandinavian countries come alive in the summer after the long winters, and it is their love of the outdoors nature and enjoying the small things. No wonder the nordic countries are always top of the list of the best living standards. Life is slower there.

Like the idea or word hygge , its a way of life - or like the saunas that the Finnish people are famous for.

Another more amusing word I recently read about is the Finnish word, PANTSDRUNK - a english translation. It is something the Finnish people enjoy to do after a week of work and in the winters months when it is to cold to go to the local pub. Basically its sitting at home in their undies and drinking beer.... hmmm okay. So whats strange about that?

I can imagine it happens in many places in the world .

So on that note, CHEERS (lemonade) everyone and have a great weekend.

MET GALA 2024// fashion , MET gala

Fashions at the Met The time is here to see the fabulous fashions that are from this years Met Gala .Always aan eye popper and this year the theme was flowers botanical looks. Some very interesting creative fashions, especially if you love flowers. My favorite look was Demi Moore’s gorgeous gown a really stunning dress.. The bold big floral print on the dress was wow! I loved it! And she looked beautiful in it. The other gowns were lovely too. Men in floral print slacks to fun shoes . Something for everyone tastes. CASUAL SUMMER LOOK//fashion , styling

Doing Denim I sometimes like to wear something that is just more relaxed and comfortable. For some it might be a pair of shorts, but I like a dress. Whether long or short. I just them more comfortable and airy on hot summer days. Denim is one look I like . It’s a casual look that can be dressed up or down, just by changing the accessories you wear with it. Heels or sandal. Simple jewelry, watch or bracelets. There are so many ways to style a denim dress. A great tote to carry the necessary items, sandals and sunglasses I would add a nice colorful scarf for the hair or simply wear tied around the neck.

SPRING LOOK //Fashion , Style, Spring

Time for some color Finally the weather is warmer and can wear lighter clothes. I especially like to start the summer/spring with some color . One of my favorites is a colorful knit on I bought years ago , a Liz Clairborn design. It’s a piece that just say spring is here. After a long , cold winter of wearing mostly dark or muted shades it’s nice to bring out something bright a cheery.
