THE VIENNALE Venice has a famous film festival, as well as Berlins Berlinale This week is the opening of the Viennale International film festival.  I must say I haven't been to it , but perhaps this week. If you love films and I am a keen movie buff  foreign films are one of my interests, though it was not easy  or they were not available in NA. There are some interesting films from France, America, Canada,Israel, Argentina China, just to list a few. The films are seen throughout the city at various movie theatres. The film program looks very interesting so hopefully will be able to check out some of these films.  Some events are free such as music bands Not only films but book presentations , parties. Theatres Kinos Theatres or Kinos were popular in the late 1800s . The Metro kino is one of the venues from 1844 and renovated  is a cultural landmark. HEALTHY TO A POINT I am like most people I would say, I eat less fat foods, try to eat more healthy   and drink more fluids.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are one of my most favourites, especially right from the garden.  The ripe tomatoes, fresh lettuces, cucumbers. If you live somewhere were the climate is  ideal for gardening it is a bonus. And especially living in Austria the milder weather makes it perfect. There are places that have their own fruit trees from cherries , apples and apricots.  I also do take multi vitamins and other needed things. The supplements are important for ones body. (after checking with the doctor and finding out I had low iron and potassium). Vitamin D is one that has many benefits according to a study. People living in the northern hemisphere are lacking Vitamin D. The normal way to get D is through exposure to the sun, and well it is darker in the fall we are less outdoors and exposed to the suns rays.  ...

MEGA LOTTO  Unless you have been hiding in a cave or in outer space you probably heard about the mega lottery. It has been in the news lately the largest lottery worth $1,6 billion  and one person is the winner of the mega prize in the USA.   Well congratulations to that lucky person or persons. What an amazing , eye popping, heart racing moment that must be.   Well I dream of winning a lottery, the BIG one I don't think luck is on my side. But just in case one day that dream happens I was thinking what would I do with such a big win. If anyone remembers a program  lifestyle of the rich & famous, they were always in monaco, southern france, la or Switzerland.   A DREAM  of billions or millions - okay , i am not greedy.   So what do with the money,   number one would share with my family and go from there. MINIMAL MATTERS  I recently read a post about minimalism,   making your life minimal with less or letting go of things.  Some things I can maybe say okay to, other ideas noooo way. Some things that i thought  why would anyone want to get rid of that, i.e. a family heirloom , a piece of art or jewellery that belongs to a parent or relative- it has a special meaning or is perhaps worth something or not. Okay, perhaps a thing that is costume or plastic  but still it is a sentimental item or has special meaning .    When I moved overseas, there were many things I sold big items pieces, but smaller things no way, collectibles or valuable items , photographs and books.  Somethings I donated and regretted it later (lesson learned). STYLISH , FUN, CHIC OR COMFORTABLE⛅🌂 Its not always easy to decide what to wear somedays- especially Mondays. We can look in our closet and think, 'What am I going to wear today? ' Sometimes it is a big dilemma of course it also depends on other things-  where you work, the weather and your comfort zone.   Naturally if you work in the business world your style will be perhaps more conservative, the suit thing. Or if you are working in place where uniforms are standard then no problem (i.e. nurses, airlines) But what about other work situations,  Sometimes i wish I had a more outdoor job as i love to be outside breathing fresh air and not stuck in a building,  but that was not possible. Luckily my job did have months when travel was needed, so was the one time could be more casual dressed. If you work in some creative area i.e. fashion  then it must be more exciting , as they can bring out their creative side, or not?  Being more flamboyant. ...

FASHION & TRENDS Animal prints in  most things are hot this season, from the usual leopard print, which is one of my favourites.  Then there are the snake prints, zebra prints and others. One classic that has always been a  favourite of mine  when it comes to accessories is crocodile . It is a classic much like leopard  has been around forever and continues to part of the  fashion style.   We might not all like to wear a complete look, but if you want to try  a certain print in small doses  then accessories are the way to go. Purses are one way to incorporate the look. Here are a few purses that  are on trend and sure to make any outfit stylish and modern. A simple update!

🍂🍂🍂 GOLDEN fall// GOLDENE HERBST 🍁🍁🍁 There are a few things I miss about fall time in north america, namely Thanksgiving and the dinners. (and of course Halloween). Anyone who has lived some time in NA will know what I mean. Thanksgiving is a big family time.  The dinners and get togethers are really one of the most special times. As most people are so busy with their hectic work , kids and family things.  Thanksgiving day is the chance to spend it with family, friends.   The delicious dinners with the roasted turkey, pumpkin or apple pies , and the stuffing and cranberry sauce. My mouth waters when I think of it really!!   One can get turkey here, though not a whole one or substitute it with chicken i suppose, but one thing  it needs is cranberries and stuffing. The two things i love.  Okay I could try to make it myself , but my favourite stuffing comes out of the box. The stove top  one -  simple , fast and yummy. ...

SO, SO MANY PLACES In the fall it is always nice to explore the city, it is usually less crowded and places are maybe not so packed. but of course there will always be people at the most popular well known spots such as the  cafes , art galleries or museums.     🍁🍂🍂🍂🍁🍁🍂🍂🍁🍁🍂🍂🍁🍁🍂🍂🍁 I look forward to fall especially October when the Lange nacht in Museum (long night in museum) is held.throughout Austria. It is really amazing how many wonderful places there are to see,  from technical to art, to natural history, Sisi museum, Leopold and Klimt . What is really great about it also is entry to the museums are free.  Of course there are lineup s and tons of people  but the atmosphere is fantastic and friendly.  People chatting with each other as they wait. Some of my  favorite places to visit are the Belvedere the palace turned art museum, Kunst museum, Natural Historisch museum, The Succession ( klimt works) and sever...

WHAT WAS I THINKING?  FASHION FAUX PAS I wonder how many of us have had those moments when we think, -  What was I thinking, when I bought that outfit? I for one had a several moments of that.  The thought of why did I pick that ? Some were absolutely dreadful.  No idea why I even got the things. But of course I was a young girl, pre teenager so experimenting with clothes was a bit of fun, though the results were questionable So I thought I would share a few of those dreadful style disasters  Outfit 1  .-  a floral one piece romper in stretch terry, with BOLD print  green with large white and yellow flowers . It was like mod style . A most ugly print and green was never my color. Think my mom made it for me. Outfit 2  - another floral but this time in pink  with a gingham print and flowers, A skirt set, so the skirt with daisies and the top was gingham,  and a awful material of 100% polyester. ONLY FRENCH, MERCI The fashion world is known for its great french fashions  Chanel or Dior and the French style. France is also known well for its fine cuisine, wines, cheeses  champagne and much more.   The music of french singers  is well loved around the world , from Serge to Halliday. Edith Piaf to Charles Aznavour The French language is one of the most romantic languages and the music  makes it even more meaningful. The French Chansons .  A famous singer of the style was Aznavour.   He wrote and sang so many beautiful tunes.  The most famous sung though in English was SHE.  A tune that really would  melt hearts.  Sadly the man recently passed  he had been touring  at the age of  90s.   The songs he sang will always be played and shared young or old, He was like the Frank Sinatra of France.  Well speaking of things French, it was also  Brigitte Bardot birth...
